Redactle - THE HINTS THREAD

Given how difficult it is to offer hints for redactle, without giving it away/being too obvious, this is a specific thread for hints.

Doesn't mean that they should give the game away, but it just stops other players seeing the hint every time they access the main thread.

So from now on, just keep your stats and general comments on the main thread and come here for any hints!

@storminabuttercup the last word is like a music stave way of writing.
The first is a general word for all the different voices that might read that music.
The article is nothing to do with music.

So stuck on today's! got quite a few words but no idea

CRACKED and decided to google one of the phrases I had - thank goodness I did

Once I had most of the other kinds in the first paragraph I resorted to Google. It's not the sort of thing that is common knowledge, in fact the only place I've ever even heard the word is in Orphan Black.

I was trying to be too clever with today's thinking it would be another obscure one - so my tip is, go for the obvious

I think the problem was loads of words I'd expect to be related didn't come up so although I thought I'd identified the sort of general 'area' I ended up in a weird rabbit hole..

I can imagine you might have ended up in an extremely dark hole!
