Redactle - THE HINTS THREAD

Given how difficult it is to offer hints for redactle, without giving it away/being too obvious, this is a specific thread for hints.

Doesn't mean that they should give the game away, but it just stops other players seeing the hint every time they access the main thread.

So from now on, just keep your stats and general comments on the main thread and come here for any hints!

Um... you need the location the answer is associated with. It's neither east nor west, it's in between.

The major clue is completely meaningless to me!!

I didn't know at all what the major clue actually meant, but it narrows down the area

Did you mean the weird unredacted characters in brackets? They aren't supported by my browser so showed as this:

Were they different/more helpful for other people?

That's what I saw too - partial (presumably accidental) unredacted characters. I had a rough idea what sort of thing they were, but also knowing what they aren't is helpful.

It looks like it should be plural but is singular.
You might not have herd of it because there aren't any more.

If it's Redactle you need hints for, you need to go right back to the very beginning. Mumsnet has a lot of expertise in this area, it's kind of an implied qualification here.

Erm, I know it's something to do with b and I've got the word sp several times. It's the 'above' and 'below' in the first section that's confuzzling me.
