So sad for her family. What a life lived though and what a legacy she leaves.

Bless her what a legend

Ginger1982 · 29/06/2022 19:29

To the world she was an inspirational campaigner but to two little souls, she was just Mummy 💔

She was such a fantastic woman. It’s hard to wrap your head around how someone so vivacious and full of life can just…be gone.
Condolences to her wonderful family and her beautiful children who I’m sure will miss her every day.

No I'm so sad what a wonderful life she had though.

Sheerdetermination · 29/06/2022 21:51

At breakfast, I thought of her children waking up today - the first day of the rest of their lives without their mum. So sad.
I met her once, and she was lovely - bubbly and friendly. Rest in Peace.

Incredibly sad to hear the sad news. Her tireless work has saved many lives.

It coincidentally happened the day after we discovered, and told our DC that their Daddy had bowel cancer. Next day, all the headlines are about #Bowelbabe and the incredible work she did - but also how she died from bowel cancer, and how she had suffered. Thankfully my DH discovered early, and has been given an excellent prognosis, but my children are obviously very scared

So you need to give your kids more info then maybe? About the stages etc etc and survival rate, in a way they can understand. I hope your DH's treatment goes well.

@50isthenew20

Yes, absolutely- we have been really transparent and open with the DCs. They are teens. My DH has been given excellent prognosis - which we keep reiterating. We have stressed that it has been caught very early, and very different to Deborah's which was tragically found at stage 4.

Her poor family, just heartbreaking...

I am terrifically sad and quite scared. I have stage 4 BC. Mine was diagnosed almost two years ago. I still have cancerous lymph nodes and am on immunotherapy which has stabilised. I’m 45. Have two Children - one with special needs and a rare genetic disorder. No amount of supportive conversation is helping right now. Rip Deborah. But not everyone has symptoms - I didn’t:..

Oh my the programme on BBC1. Sobbed all through it 😢

PearlyShamps · 30/06/2022 22:27

@FighterMumTigerMum sending you huge hugs. I have 2 friends who have both survived stage 3, and stage 4. It must be scary, but keep on fighting, FighterMum. 😘

@FighterMumTigerMum
The last few days must have been extremely difficult for you. I always wonder how many positive stories there are which we never hear about, which might outweigh the tragic ones we do. Deborah James and many like her are heroines who fight for all those affected by such a hideous disease. There will be many whose stories are different.

Thinking of you Flowers

Thank you all ❤️❤️
