Would this be a nice teachers gift or a bit crappy?

I can make personalised items (I do it as a hobby only)

I was thinking of getting these bags and notebooks, putting the school crest on them and teachers names (small) and filling them with a few other bits chocolates etc.

The bags and notebooks could be used in school?

Is it a bit cringy? Am on a budget!

I think it's a lovely idea!

twomumsonebump · 28/06/2022 19:15

Love the idea! Definitely put the names on but I'd avoid the school crest. For me personally, I'd prefer to keep it separate from my work so I could use the bag other places without people knowing where I work!

derekthe1adyhamster · 28/06/2022 19:16

Lovely idea. Agree that the bag at least should just have their name

I would love that! Instead of the school crest I would just put the teacher’s name on the note book, though. You don’t even need the bag if you are on a budget. I really hope you are a parent at my school! 😉

BlackbirdsSinging · 28/06/2022 19:16

Really lovely (I am a TA).

Ah for the same reason I'd leave the names off too, if they want to use them outside work they won't want their name on it. It's a nice idea though OP.

MintyGreenDreams · 28/06/2022 19:17

I think initials would be better

BlackbirdsSinging · 28/06/2022 19:17

PS if you are on a budget, a home made card is also lovely!

RoRoRoh · 28/06/2022 19:23

If I don't put the crest or name on though it's just a plain bag 🤣

I was thinking they could use it as a school lunch bag or something. Rather than a bag to use at the weekend or outside of school time.

I probably wouldn't put the school Crest. I would put flowers or something similar and maybe their initials.

Sausagesarnieplease · 28/06/2022 19:37

Names are ok, or Miss G, Mrs L, Mr M.
The Tas and teachers where I work love a tote bag. Would stay away from the school logo though.
A few of the favourites have a little funny sentence on them but not all will like this, you have to know your audience.
It's a lovely gift though and will be well received.

If you are on a budget just get your kids to write a letter of thanks. Each to their own but I have never understood the need to buy presents for teachers at the end of term.

I just meant I have a set budget per teacher. Not that I am short of money.

I always get teachers a present, the children love giving them!

We did something similar as a group last year. All the children drew a picture of themselves on the bag and we filled it with goodies.

K0612 · 28/06/2022 19:57

I'd love it to say name but agree would leave school crest off. Lovely idea

LisaSimpson77 · 28/06/2022 20:03

Lovely idea, very thoughtful but I always jump on these threads where people are on a tight budget to say that you really, really do not need to buy your child's teacher a present.
Honestly, a lovely thank you message telling the teacher what you have appreciated and/or a picture from your child will be just as much appreciated.

Ivchangedmynameforthis · 28/06/2022 20:07

I'm a TA. I would love this. Wouldn't want the school crest though in case I changed schools for any reason. Would love my name though.

Misstes · 28/06/2022 20:08

I wouldn’t put a crest on them. How old are your kids. Could they decorate them for their teachers making them a bit more personal from them?

grapehyacinthisactuallyblue · 28/06/2022 20:08

Lovely.

carefullycourageous · 28/06/2022 20:10

Put the crest on. They will never get another gift like it.

I don't think your gift should be designed by committee, your original idea is great.

ifawftfte · 28/06/2022 20:15

I wouldn't bother with the school crest. But the name is nice. Notebooks are always useful!

JelloFishy · 28/06/2022 20:19

I'm a teacher and I really hope you are one of my parents!! 😂I think it's a lovely idea I'd carry my work stuff around in it!

FlamingoDust · 28/06/2022 20:21

Love it! I'd be over the moon with something so thoughtful

WarriorN · 28/06/2022 20:22

Not the school crest; I'd use that as a lunch bag or similar. Name is fine though!

Good idea (teacher of 20 + years)

Pinkflipflop85 · 28/06/2022 20:24

Leave off the school crest. I wouldn't use one that had my school logo on it.
