What things would you refuse to cut back on despite rising costs etc?

Mine would be getting my hair done, treating myself to some unnecessary bits from primark, meeting friends for a coffee once a week.

Things that I've reluctantly given up are meals out with DH, take aways EVERY weekend ( maybe once a mth instead) buying unnecessary luxury food

What's things would you refuse to give up until you absolutely had to?

Gum membership
cycling

i will cut back on fuel, coffees out, meals out, before I cut back or swap my gym membership & cycling equipment. So tyres, inner tubes, minimum clothing & maps etc

The odd meal out / takeaway IF it’s better then I can make myself

happy to give up

With a lot of stuff there are go-arounds which can keep the cost down. So, I can't do without a haircut - I got very miserable over lockdown when that wasn't possible. But, I can go longer between haircuts and trim my fringe in between visits. I could also look for a cheaper hairdresser.

I'm on disability benefits so have always lived frugally.. second hand everything where possible
I only eat once a day( fine as I can't walk far anyway!)
Two non negotiables
1 My daily dog Walker.. I have a dWestie who is priceless to me.
6 weekly cut and colour( £40) which works out at 1p per day!
Have cancelled Netflix and boiler plan to afford better pet insurance.
For me, I consider every £1's worth value to me.

There’s nothing non- essential that I wouldn’t give up if I had to.

I’m very lucky in that I don’t have to yet but I’ve started tracking my spending much more closely and allocating a monthly spending limit for food, fuel and fun.

Dog Walker-there’s no choice, they cannot be left 7-4 for the 3 days a month we need covered.

Decent coffee, I refuse to drink instant shite.

Petrol: I need to drive to work, take the dogs to a decent place for a walk (both 3 or 4 miles away)

Raw dog food: I would rather compromise on what I eat than what they eat.
