DS is almost 4 and has ASD and a speech delay. He went out in the garden and said "mama, lovely, lovely day". It really made me smile. Anyone else want to share?

My boobs very much emptied and went south after babies. DS saw me getting changed and asked "what are those flaps for?" 😅

JellyBellyNelly · 17/06/2022 13:56

My 2 year old grandson to his daddy when he was being given a suppository for a fever - daddy putting battery.

BanditBluey · 17/06/2022 14:00

Love these! My DS, age 3 who also has speech delay, said this morning on the walk to nursery "it's a lovely day!"
He also came running over to me when watching blues clues Halloween episode "mummy mummy! it's spooky!"

My DS 1.5 doesn't say a lot yet. But he does say "YEAHHH" in the most enthusiastic way possible. Me and DH tend to copy him now when we wanna say yeah in general conversation we say YEAHHH! DS-style

😂flaps! Oh that's priceless and has certainly cheered up my day 😂

My 4 year old DS calls my boobs my "feeders" as I'm still BFing my 2 year old.

These are so cute 🥰 my DS (3) calls his tummy button his 'piggy button' which I love. He also talks about 'gentling' animals- as in 'mummy, I'm off to gentle that cat' instead of stroke the cat.

Piemam · 17/06/2022 14:15

Ah, @Winterfellismyhome , that is heartwarming. My 2.5yr old uses adult-style phrases lots as surrounded by teens/adults but I love when I use a term of endearment just for him, and he turns it to one for me, like "Good morning my big one" as I call him little one.

emmetgirl · 17/06/2022 14:20

My DD (who is 27 now) hated anything fizzy or with bits in (to drink) when she was little. Every time she was given a drink, even water, she would ask "has it got bits in?"
Answer "no"
"Has it got fizzy in?"
I still think of it all the time....and love to remind her of it!

SchoolRunEscapee · 17/06/2022 14:26

When my daughter was young she asked if nipples were belly nostrils and having seen the famous picture of the Loch Ness monster, said 'whats that? Some kind of evil goose?'🤣

lavenderfine · 17/06/2022 14:34

If I fix something for DS he says 'thanks mummy that's very much lots better' also he won't let anyone else in the family say they're his best friend, he says 'no sorry my mummy is my best friend'. He's a big mummy's boy 🥰

Elmo311 · 17/06/2022 15:24

My 4 year old said "mummy I will always love you" randomly at lunchtime today :)

Winterfellismyhome · 17/06/2022 16:00

@Elmo311 aw thats lovely.

DS also likes to say "well done" Grin

I told my DS he was being a great pickle and he say 'well you're a great mummy' which he thought was a devastating comeback😂

He also wants to know the names of all the plants on the way to nursery, and when they will be flowers.

INeedtobealone · 17/06/2022 16:20

My son has a speech and language delay too. He goes to a school, with a SALT resource base.

Last winter, when he was 4, it snowed, it was the first time he really saw it as he was too small the last time.

He had the best day and he said to me 'Mummy, I love you in the snow'. I have a photo from that day with that sentence written on the back in his 'special box', where I keep scan photos etc.

BocolateChiscuits · 17/06/2022 16:36

Me, saying bye to DS(6y) as I left the house for work: tell Daddy to put suncream on you before you go to school. You need to wear suncream, otherwise your skin will get old and wrinkly when you're a grown-up.

DS: did they not have suncream when you were little?

Curlygirl06 · 17/06/2022 17:17

My daughter was having a moment and called me a pooh face. I said she was a pooh face. She thought for a bit, then called me a pooh face horrid! 30 odd years ago and it still makes me laugh.

Squiff70 · 17/06/2022 17:38

Squiff70 · 17/06/2022 17:40

Bloody MN!

Due to extreme prematurity).

DP: Can you say 'bear'?
DD: Bear!
DP: Can you say 'car'?
DD: Car!
DP: Can you say 'teddy'?
DD: Ta-daaah!
DP: Can you say 'daddy'?
DD: Mooooooo!

Changechangychange · 17/06/2022 17:45

DS thinks women have breasts and men have nibbles. I have told him it’s a nipple but it’s too cute to keep correcting him.

Mammma91 · 17/06/2022 17:48

DS, she 3. Suspected autistic and under assessment with speech delay. When I collect him from nursery, he always says ‘oh my mama, hi mama’ and smiles from ear to ear. Also at bedtime he says ‘love you’ and it makes me so unbelievably happy. I am so proud of him. This time 6 months ago he couldn’t say a word.

rosegoldivy · 17/06/2022 17:57

DD3 tells me "I love you being silly mummy"
And constantly asks
"Why you got your boobies on mummy" when she sees me in a bra or crop 🤣

When he asks for toasted bread

My ds asks for toast but uncooked.

Also asks for his T-shirt to be 'outside-in'd' (if it's inside out)

And the cutest is when he says 'I amn't' - as in 'I am not' e.g 'I amn't tired'

99ProblemsButAFartAintOne · 17/06/2022 18:02

Our 5 year old daughter thinks the dining table is called the "diamond table"

And if she sees someone even she girly enjoying something she will say to them "you're living your life today!" I think she means living your best life 🤣

Geranium1984 · 17/06/2022 18:03

DS 22 months said 'so juicy'when he had a strawberry today

Changechangychange · 17/06/2022 18:18

@Bezzi mine asks for “raw toast”. He also eats frozen bread though….

He also repeats “adult” things he’s heard around him. “Let’s have a conversation!” comes up quite a bit, and the other day he announced “Nobody can’t never resist an ice lolly on a hot day!” No idea where he heard that, clearly copied from TV as it isn’t anything I’d ever come out with!

He told me in hushed tones that somebody at school said a bad word the other day and had to go to time out. Turned out to be “oh hell” Grin
