Posting because I'd like to know this too.

A colleague recommended matcha (sp)? powder or tea. Apparently it will still have the same effect as a cup of coffee but minus the anxiety and whatever else. I've tried it and it really doesn't hit the spot.

Instant or posher? :)

Instant I think Nescafé Azeera is pretty good but bloody expensive so look for it on offer (it is a lot in one or other of the supermarkets).

L’Or decaf is the best I’ve found

For instant I’ve found decaf Kenco ok

TheVolturi · 12/06/2022 10:40

Kenco is very good.

FoodSchmood · 12/06/2022 10:49

Grumpy mule do a good decaf (ground beans, not an instant coffee).

Eyesofdisarray · 12/06/2022 10:53

Another vote for Kenco's decaf. Recently switched and its lovely

toastofthetown · 12/06/2022 10:58

With decaf it's worth bearing in mind that the beans go stale much faster than caffeinated beans as the beans open more during processing. So I'd try to order in the smallest quantities you drink so that the beans are fresher, then you'll have a much better experience.

If you have a pod machine, I read a review that the Nespresso Volluto (decaf) is almost identical to the caffeinated version, so if you like that then that could be a good option.

lilroo87 · 12/06/2022 11:02

Cornish coffee company was the best decaf I found but it's ground coffee not instant. I'm not really an instant coffee drinker so couldn't advise on those.
I have a nespresso machine now and some of the decaf coffee pods with that are nice but not amazing

For instant I agree with this. And I've tried a lot of really awful coffee.

AmbushedByCake1 · 12/06/2022 11:19

Nescafé Azera but only when it's on offer.

Yes same here

Caminante · 12/06/2022 11:23

I have researched this extensively!!

Lavazza decaf is hands down the best.

Café Direct Fairtrade the next best.

Caminante · 12/06/2022 11:23

Ground coffee that is, rather than instant.

AdmiralsPie · 12/06/2022 11:25

L'or decaf instant for me.

Branleuse · 12/06/2022 11:38

percol or clipper for instant coffee is the best, but any of the supermarkets "gold" instant coffees are fine.
I think decaff ground coffees seem to be a bit more hit and miss, but i think they are just generally weaker tasting, so use an extra scoop to decaff version of your favourite one.

MrsMaudeLebowski · 12/06/2022 16:21

I prefer percol decaff for instant coffee. It has a nice flavour and it's decaffeinated using CO2 rather than chemical solvents, if that's something you're concerned about.

Norachance · 12/06/2022 16:42

If the stomach issues are caused by the acidity of the coffee, sorry to say decaf is still acidic.
I gave up coffee because of acid reflux and chronic gastritis about three years ago. It made a massive difference to me and certainly helped my anxiety (along with cbt).
I drink Whole Earth Coffee alternative from Holland and Barretts or Prewetts Roasted Chicory from Amazon. Ok they don't taste much like coffee but I feel as if I am drinking coffee if you see what I mean. Perfectly pleasant.

Thissucksmonkeynuts · 12/06/2022 16:44

Lavazza decaf if you want the full on coffee kick , Cafe Direct Machu Pichu decaf is absolutely gorgeous if you want something less bitter.

Cantgetausername87 · 12/06/2022 16:46

Aldis decaff barista moments saved my life when i was pregnant-easily as nice as the nescafe but a lot cheaper x

PermanentlyTired03 · 12/06/2022 16:54

Nespresso decaf pods are nice- you can't tell the difference. Bit of a splurge if you don't have a machine though!

Lapwingslore · 12/06/2022 16:59

Taylors of Harrogate. Delicious and helped me to ditch the caffeine for good.

gracedentssketty · 12/06/2022 17:01

I actually like Waitrose decaf - kind of a toffee flavour to it

Jenjenn · 12/06/2022 17:03

I second Taylors of Harrogate, only one i have found that doesn't have that chemical decaf taste.

Barleysugar86 · 12/06/2022 17:03

L’Or instant decaf for me too.
