Another vote for Lavazza decaf ground.

BestIsWest · 12/06/2022 17:11

DH likes Azeera - it’s on offer in ASDA today. Just bought some.

picklemewalnuts · 12/06/2022 17:11

Ground.

Lidl and Aldi do a cheap house decaf for filter coffee. You need to make it a bit stronger than normal coffee, but it's really good.

Lavazza espresso decaf is great too.

Instant decaf is pointless.

L'or decaf instant for me.

Me too. Also like Douwe Egberts.

lashy · 12/06/2022 17:13

Kenco decaf is rather nice IMO

IrisVersicolor · 12/06/2022 17:20

Lavazza coffee machine decaf pods taste exactly like normal coffee. They’re called “Dek Cromoso”.

YouHaveNoAuthorityHereJackie · 12/06/2022 17:20

Percol or Illy for instant imo. I can’t drink caffeinated as it gives me the shakes, but I really like these 2.

MeMe3Spoons · 12/06/2022 17:22

Douwe Egberts decaf instant, best by far in my book!

LeuvenMan · 12/06/2022 17:25

I was a coffee addict but now have a heart arrhythmia so been told to cut caffeine by the cardiologist. Have tried a lot

L'Or my favourite instant
Lavatza filter decaf
Nespresso Vicenza decaffinato pods

Instant or posher? :)

Instant I think Nescafé Azeera is pretty good but bloody expensive so look for it on offer (it is a lot in one or other of the supermarkets).

I always used Azeera, but I have found Aldi's version of it to taste the same and it's a fraction of the cost! You can't always get it though. It's lovely.

soberfabulous · 12/06/2022 17:46

I gave up caffeine four years ago and it has been life changing in terms of reducing my anxiety.

I still drink decaf coffee every day at home in the morning and also from coffee shops.

At home, Nescafé does a good one; so does waitrose. Most supermarkets will do a version and it's worth trying them.

Also check iherb; they have a couple of brands I'd never heard of but taste good.

Costa and Starbucks also do great decaf.

Good luck OP, you will never look back!

I actually like Waitrose decaf - kind of a toffee flavour to it

Yea I love this too!

j712adrian · 12/06/2022 17:57

Dowie Egberts

Igmum · 12/06/2022 18:00

I only drink decaf but really like nice coffee. My monthly treat, started during lockdown when you couldn't get decaf near me for love nor money, is a subscription to www.manumitcoffee.co.uk/ for their ground decaf. Absolutely lovely. My go-to in between deliveries is Taylor's of Harrogate, very nice and widely stocked. Lavazzo is a bit too full-on for me.

Jumpking · 12/06/2022 18:01

Try being a decaff drinker AND someone who won't consume any Nestlé products on ethical grounds!

After much tasting, instant wise L'or wins. Barista wise, Aldi's is pretty decent. Can't comment on pods, as I don't own one.

Onesundaymorning · 12/06/2022 18:04

Another vote for Azera (and agree about waiting until it is on offer!).

HannahSternDefoe · 12/06/2022 18:25

Is it the coffee or the caffeine that's causing you problems?

If it's caffeine you need to avoid chocolate too.

pinkpirlie · 12/06/2022 18:54

Nescafé Azera & as others have said bulk buy when on offer.
This is the best instant decaf I have found.
Nothing tastes like caffeinated coffee though, but you'll get used to it in time.
My Aussie partner doesn't moan as much about British coffee after 6 years - although he still wants to burn every Costa to the ground.

HazelBite · 12/06/2022 18:58

Instant, the Nescafe Azeera takes some beating.
Ground, ASDA own brand (strength 3) is really very good and good value

Violinist64 · 12/06/2022 18:59

I like Percol decaffeinated for instant coffee and Whittards or Cafe Nero for ground decaffeinated coffee for my cafetière.

MushyPeasPrincess · 12/06/2022 19:06

Instant - Douwe Egberts is by far the best to me.

Ground - is there a decaf version of your fave coffee - just add extra to make it stronger and you may not notice much difference in taste.

I tend to buy from small local independent roasters near me, both full and decaf versions, have a look around and you might find a hidden gem that will help you out x

Upvote for Grumpy Mule. Exceptional, and I tried everything through three straight years of pregnancy and breastfeeding.
