Amanda & Clive Owen Split

I feel quite sad. Like many I really enjoyed the tv programme, visited Ravenseat for a cream tea and met and chatted with them both.

Well, Amanda is hardly going to mention them in her books or social media is she? People have always asked where Clive is on her Instagram posts and she has always said he keeps out of social media which is fair enough. It would be completely inappropriate to post about his ex-wife and children. If we never hear about them it's most likely because they don't want us to. We don't have the right to hear about every angle of their lives.

@Changingmynameyetagain. I've just re-read your post and re-interpreted it. I don't think you intended to suggest that we should hear about them. Sorry.

I suppose the “Waltonesq” life was a little romanticised but I did love watching the TV program. Escapism.

Just read she hopes to carry on in tv as a solo shepherdess and has employed a PR company.

We met the family a couple of times before the show went stratospheric. Clive seemed like a really lovely, warm, down to earth man and it was clear then that the "Yorkshire Shepherdess" thing made him quite uncomfortable. It's been clear for years that they were going in very different directions.
Pps saying there's no mention of Clive's older children - there's plenty of mention of them in Amanda's first book. (People who think Amanda is a former model clearly haven't read that book either; that's not the case, she's been farming since she left school, but it seems to suit the narrative that's been constructed around her in recent years).

I felt very sad when I read this in the newspaper.

I’ve never seen it but, judging by that photo, this was fairly likely to happen. He looks like her dad, or grandad.

Will that was predictable 🙄 the more the show went on the more confident She got, whilst the more he stayed the same 🤷🏼‍♀️ plus the twenty year age gap didn't help I expect - not a problem at 25/45, more so at 45/65....

I think he’s had a lucky escape.

I've met them both and seen the children at different agricultural events, the children are well mannered, well behaved and engaging. Clive and Amanda were both really pleasant to chat to. The fact the children have a range of interests & careers shows they're well rounded & intelligent.

I don't understand why everyone is leaping on her for enjoying fame and the money that comes with it. Farming is an industry in crisis and there's very little money to be made, especially as Ravenseat is a tenant farm & not owned by the family.

If they've decided their marriage didn't work for them that's their prerogative, good luck to them and their children for finding their way in life.

To be honest I never bought into the whole thing as an idealistic way of life or to them as a model couple but I hope they’re left alone now and the children are all dealing with it ok. It’s always sad
when a family breaks up but I can’t pretend I’m
any more sad about this than any other. The line between fantasy and reality feels so blurred with these shows

I remember watching an old series and being shocked at the kids sitting in the back of the landrover not in car seats in fact not seemingly restrained at all

This didn't surprise me as I had heard rumours that Amanda had moved out of the family home and was enjoying the company of a camera man.
