How to get copies of GCSE results from years ago?

nancyclancy123 · 10/06/2022 21:00

I’m applying for a new role at my current workplace.
They haven’t asked for copies, I’ve just listed them on the application site, but I thought it would be handy to have copies in case they do.
I sat my GCSE’s 27 years ago!!

I really don't think 27 year old GCSEs are relevant. Any job I've applied for only asks for highest qualifications.

My DH got asked for 35 year old cse results. It was part of the security checks

I can't be the only one who's convinced 123Polyanna123 and xoxFulhamMUMMY are the same person and having a great time? After a really long week, it's making me laugh so much, thank you. I didn't twig until "millenium bug, apparently?" Genius!

You just linked to this thread. I have tried it on another 2 devices.

Sorry about the bold...

burnoutbabe · 10/06/2022 23:29

I suppose in theory if you can't track down who you did your exams with and tried all likely providers then you'd have to resit. Daft though it is.

I had to get mum to dig out certificates when I applied for a second degree, since then I've had a few ex school mates email to ask which board for their uni applications.

So, you'll reject UCAS and UK Government evidence in favour of.....THIS very Mumsnet thread?!

Now, THATS anecdotal evidence! 🤣

Blah, blah....

AQA says it costs £43 for them to perform a search for your results if you've lost your certificates.

www.contact-us/certificate-services/past-results-and-lost-certificates

That's 3-0.....

I'd ignore @xoxFulhamMUMMY . They've been making odd posts across several threads.

God I’d be screwed if I had to resit my maths GCSE, don’t know how I scraped that C back in 1995!

superram · 10/06/2022 23:35

I have set next to the person who reprints exam board certificates, you do not have to resit them (unless you didn’t get the pass you needed to do teacher training). It’s madness that believe believe this shit!

A Mumsnet thread is neither authoritative NOR more up to date than UCAS, UK Government or AQA, I'm afraid. These are not anecdotal evidence themselves.

A Mumsnet thread, which is this one you linked to for some silly reason, IS a piece of anecdotal evidence.

If I were you, I would be less worried about lost certificate and more worried about a lost mind.
You are either taking the piss, or are ill. Either way, maybe get to bed and get some sleep.

You quote OCR and AQA in your suspiciously non existent link.

here are links to both [https://www.ocr.org.uk/students/replacement-certificates/ OCR]] and AQA where it gives the information on how to apply for replacement certificates.
