Would you got to Spain for a day?

DH birthday next Friday and I have been looking at going to Spain just for the day really, we would land at 11:55pm Friday then have the whole day Saturday then fly back at 7am Sunday.

DS is only 8 weeks old so I wouldn't go any longer than that and the kids have school etc.

Is it a waste of time ?

Haha the judgey police are out today!

The poster was stating a fact, that is relevant to 'would you go to Spain for a day'.

The OP asked for opinions. People can say what they would do without it being a judgement of what anyone else can do, and people can decide which factors make the trip a good use of time or not.

For me, leaving a small baby would be part of the decision making as to whether the trip was a good use of time or not. That doesn't mean that I or anyone else are hoisting our knickers over what anyone else does.

DH has just gone to Copenhagen for 36 hours - lunch flight today and lands back tomorrow at 11pm. We’ve also done Majorca for a day but friends have an apartment there (5am flight out, 9pm flight back) so it was easy to hang out with them.

Airports are a goddamned nightmare at the moment. I wouldn't spend that much of my day in an airport, on a tiny seat in a flying corridor, back in an airport, to get into a taxi, go somewhere nice for an hour or two, back into a taxi, back into an airport, back into a flying corridor, back into an airport - all the time crossing your fingers and hoping you don't hit a delay. I can barely be arsed with all the fuss for a week's worth of holiday, a day sounds like hell.

I am someone who has gone away without a very young baby- DM looked after him for a night when DS was 8 weeks old and we had a lovely night away for our anniversary.

I'm also someone who has gone abroad without DS for a ridiculous break with DH - Amsterdam with DH for two nights and one day. We got in the first evening about 9 , had a full day and night and then had to leave at 6am on the Sunday morning. It was fantastic and highly worth it.

However unless your flight is with Jet2 who don't seem to be cancelling things
(Ryanair too I suppose) then I'd not bother at the minute.
