I am a Republican - but will still be watching as a good line up. Just seen Queen and Adam Lambert being interviewed.

10 seconds of Rod Stewart struggling to carry a tune was enough for me.

Well! Loved Queen and Adam Lambert - we're seeing them in the O2 tomorrow night!- loved Alicia Keyes - what a voice!

Rod Stewart - awful
Duran Duran - also awful

Diana Ross - looked amazing and her voice seemed to get better and better - very confusing..,

But thank God Paul McCartney wasn't there!!!

Interesting concert. Hope the Queen enjoyed it. Who do you think she watched it with?! I hope she has someone.

And Mummy?? By Charles? Fuck off.

She is his mummy.

Re the miming a lot of acts now use a prerecorded vocal track or two to 'supplement' the voice. Thats why eg Britney could dance around and never be out of breath. The mic is muted except for when it needs to be on. People seem happy enough to pay to see that. Back in the day I remember Kate Bush having a note in the concert brochure to say she would be using a backing track for 1 song due to the dancing she would be doing. Nowadays technology has allowed artists to supplement or 'improve' their voice.

Just watching a bit of Queen from last night. Freddie would have been beside himself with excitement. Adam Lambert? Is good but Freddie would probably have ascended to heaven at the end of this set. He was made for it. Hope he's watching. RIP Freddie.

I bet the Queen wasnt watching it, probably get someone to pick out the best bits for later (when she can eat her marmalade sandwiches)

She really was miming. It was pretty clear she was.

I was there. She was not miming. She couldn’t hear herself and was awfully out of tune, the audience went flat. She was fiddling with her radio Mike box and signalling, once she could hear it got better. Only found out when got home she had been dubbed for the live broadcast on TV. But everyone the was 100% live. It’s a shame the Tv broadcast wasn’t.

GreenCard watch it back on the TV, see if you think differently when you can see it up close (obviously you were actually there but even the people at the front of the crowd were a distance away). She was definitely singing parts of the later songs live but the 1st song had clear sections of miming where she kept 'singing' whilst also shouting to the crowd and blowing kisses.

100% she was live. The TV was completely different when we got back and watched it. When she wasn’t singing we had no dubbed over, there were gaps and missed words etc along with the really really off key. She picked up later on.

GreenCard · 05/06/2022 12:53

So when she was talking to the audience and blowing kisses we heard what she was saying and the singing stopped etc.

Zippidy123 · 05/06/2022 13:17

GreenCard it sounds like she was having technical difficulties then and they tried to disguise it for the TV broadcast. I did see her fiddle with her mic pack at the beginning. Must be so frustrating as an artist because they're the ones who get criticism for it. Although she's had such a long career I doubt it bothers her.
