I am a Republican - but will still be watching as a good line up. Just seen Queen and Adam Lambert being interviewed.

WTF happened with Celeste and that song? It sounded so very wrong, she shouted it almost rather than sang it.

I wish they kept rolling instead of rushing the end for the news like that.

Me too. Not a nice ending.

Hellocatshome · 04/06/2022 22:49

Although I'm loving this I think we could have had a few more acts - Take That, Steps, Adele, Ed Sheerhan. Where are the young versions of all these singers?

Ed Sheeran is in Sunderland, he knows where its at 🤣

LizBennet · 04/06/2022 22:50

Oh I love Diana, don't care if she mimed 💗
Her and Alicia Keys were the best there 😬

balletmuffin · 04/06/2022 22:50

Macca. Where was Sir Paul?

Why no Gary Barlow I wonder?

Honestly if u swapped Craig David for Gary Barlow/take that it would've been fabulous!

CuriousMama · 04/06/2022 22:57

Yes Ed is up north. I know loads who've been to see him . I might if he was doing open mic at my local?

Iloveychildrenandmydoggie · 04/06/2022 23:01

Regardless of whether Diana was miming or not …she was brilliant…she definitely gave the right vibe and for a 78 year old she rocks …sassy and beautiful:)

Dreadful, wasn’t it? Louis Armstrong must have been turning in his grave.

AngeloMysterioso · 04/06/2022 23:03

Interesting that there’s no sign of the Sussexes… the entire rest of the family is there (apart from PA) and it looks like great fun, I thought this kind of shindig was right up their street?

jubileetrain · 04/06/2022 23:03

@Iusyje

She IS NOT miming.

How on earth do you explain the part where she was talking and blowing kisses whilst her vocal was still audible? She was miming and she fucked it up.

To be fair, they’d be hauled over the coals,,,again if they did turn up. They can’t win really.

Would you go out with your family when you’d denigrated them to a global audience? I imagine the reception would have been pretty frosty.

That was well worth reading, thanks OP, I laughed a lot!

I'd have cried if I'd been there listening to Andrea

I saw him before a charity football match at Old Trafford a few years ago. He just stood on the pitch and sang, obviously without an orchestra, and 75000 people were there but there was absolute silence apart from this magnificent voice. It was something I’ll never forget.

balletmuffin · 04/06/2022 22:50

Macca. Where was Sir Paul?

I was wondering that, he’s usually at anything like this.

AngeloMysterioso · 04/06/2022 23:26

Is it me or did they massively speed up the tempo of Chain Reaction?

DDivaStar · 04/06/2022 23:28

I went to the diamond jubilee concert and think the line up was better for that. Gary Barlow, Paul Mc Cartney, Stevie Wonder,Shirley Bassey Madness and Elton John live.

Hellocatshome · 04/06/2022 23:30

I love that Guardian Live feed and I agree Diversity has basically become the Ashley Banjo show.

YES!!!! I was moaning about this the whole way through the song and DH didn't see (hear) it!! It was far too fast.

bloodyunicorns · 05/06/2022 00:01

Well! Loved Queen and Adam Lambert - we're seeing them in the O2 tomorrow night!- loved Alicia Keyes - what a voice!

Rod Stewart - awful
Duran Duran - also awful

Diana Ross - looked amazing and her voice seemed to get better and better - very confusing..,

But thank God Paul McCartney wasn't there!!!

Interesting concert. Hope the Queen enjoyed it. Who do you think she watched it with?! I hope she has someone.

And Mummy?? By Charles? Fuck off.

GreenCard · 05/06/2022 01:05

For those at the concert Diana Ross was absolutely live. Terribly out of tune and forgetting the words as she was signalling to people she couldn’t hear. She was live the entire singing and that’s why there wasn’t much reaction from the audience as it was so out of tune. Sounds like they had it pretty recorded and played that over the TV. But everyone there sang live.

GreenCard · 05/06/2022 01:05

Rod Stewart was pissed he had to sing awful sweet Caroline. Why did people choose that song!

Zippidy123 · 05/06/2022 07:35

GreenCard watch it back on the TV, see if you think differently when you can see it up close (obviously you were actually there but even the people at the front of the crowd were a distance away). She was definitely singing parts of the later songs live but the 1st song had clear sections of miming where she kept 'singing' whilst also shouting to the crowd and blowing kisses.

Zippidy123 · 05/06/2022 07:36

I think Mabel was also miming.
