What are you doing today if your avoiding the jubilee?

First off, I have nothing against those who are celebrating and going to local events but it’s not for me or my dc.

My dc are teens, both on the spectrum so don’t like busy places/parties etc.., dd2 petrified of drums, marching and fireworks. We are trying to keep everything normal and calm but roads through are village will be shut, there will be loud music, bands, fireworks later tonight and probably neighbours celebrating in their gardens. TBH I can’t wait until it’s all over.

So if you are not joining in with the festivities and celebrations what do you plan on doing today and tomorrow? Is there anywhere we can go to avoid crowds?

We redecorated our sitting room yesterday and doing the hallway today. Hoping to get the downstairs toilet and utility area done tomorrow. Hopefully out into countryside and for some breakfast on Monday. Nice to be able to get some very postponed decorating done without having to use annual leave to do it.

Everyone in my family is working. Just another Friday.

It's just another weekday

So I'm working!

Well, I was knackered and wiped out yesterday and watched Series 1&2 of Detectorists back to back. Today I intend to watch the Christmas special and Series 3.

That sounds like a good plan. I am watching the new Borgen but should really be catching up on work

On a cruise, sitting in the sun drinking cocktails. Not a flag in sight! It's peaceful.

Enjoying my day off with a dog walk, a good book, and the tennis this weekend. No bunting or any Jube shite of any kind round here I am delighted to say (East Central Scotland).

Schools have a day off so I've taken my daughter shopping to get something for her Dad's fathers day. We're currently in Nandos waiting for lunch. The shops here are busy but that's pretty standard for a bank holiday anyway.

There's lots happening in the town where I live but daughter 10 doesn't want to go so got out of it !
Been to the woods with the dogs , seen to the horse and now just going to tidy up a bit and watch this weeks silent witness whilst child plays with her friend in their garden

the bank holiday hasn't stopped the grammar police then !

I'm going to be teaching a lesson about the difference between your, meaning it belongs to you, and you're, short for 'you are', and warning that autocorrect can sometimes mess up what an otherwise very literate person has written.

This made me roar 😆

There's nothing going on in my road. A neighbour on the opposite side of the road has flags and pictures of the queen in her window. The rest of us seem to be just having a normal bank holiday weekend. I've just packed, as I'm going away for the rest of it, and nothing will be jubilee related at all 🙂
