Very embarrassing but what day/time is it?

Just that. Is it May 31st or June 1st and is it evening or morning?

I fell asleep at 6.30pm and was torn out of sleep after 7 thinking I'd actually slept until morning. I looked at my calendar and thought 'that can't be right.' Am I going mad or...

It can come on later.
once it came on I think two days after I hit my head. I fell asleep in the afternoon while getting ready for work then that night I had the most horrendous headaches and hallucinations. I went to a&e the next day and they checked me over but weren’t worried. Think if you’re physically sick it means could be a problem

nearlyspringyay · 31/05/2022 22:14

Not normal and why can't you check the time on whatever posting from?

Thanks for asking this. I completely forgot I'd hit my head. I just ran my hand over it and it still hurts - I'd forgotten it had even happened.

I'll keep an eye for any change but I've been fine other than this tiredness and confusion.

I have a benign brain tumour and had a lot of seizures after being diagnosed last October but only one since Christmas. I fell on my bed while changing it one evening. I came round totally disoriented but convinced I'd just woken up after a night's sleep and that it was the next day. I couldn't understand why my phone and the alarm clock were showing it was evening.
It's probably nothing but I would definitely consider getting checked out.

EmJay19 · 31/05/2022 22:17

@janeseymour78 take it easy and give this a read

Is there someone that can sleep over tonight?

Seek emergency care for an adult or child who experiences a head injury and signs and symptoms such as:

Repeated vomiting or nausea
A loss of consciousness lasting longer than 30 seconds
A headache that gets worse over time
Fluid or blood draining from the nose or ears
Vision or eye disturbances, such as pupils that are bigger than normal (dilated pupils) or pupils of unequal sizes
Ringing in the ears that doesn't go away
Weakness in the arms or legs
Appearing very pale for longer than an hour
Changes in behavior
Confusion or disorientation, such as difficulty recognizing people or places
Slurred speech or other changes in speech
Obvious difficulty with mental function or physical coordination
Changes in physical coordination, such as stumbling or clumsiness
Seizures or convulsions
Lasting or recurrent dizziness
Symptoms that worsen over time

EmJay19 · 31/05/2022 22:19

Or like @Papergirl1968 says might be worth going to a&e

windowstothesoul · 31/05/2022 22:19

If you hit your head in last few days and had these new symptoms/feelings please get medical attention-

windowstothesoul · 31/05/2022 22:21

At A&E write it down & share with them - - hit my head at X - tiredness & confusion since then -

Not normal for me -

Today, Sir? Why it's Christmas day!

janeseymour78 · 31/05/2022 22:28

Thanks for the concern everyone but I'm not going to go to a&e.

I feel fine and have been functioning at work as normal aside from fatigue later in the day. I'll keep an eye on things tomorrow and if I really don't feel right still will go to hospital then.

If it gets worse in the night call yourself an ambulance. You can’t take risks with head injuries. Take care of yourself op x

LakeTiticaca · 31/05/2022 22:30

This has happened to me on a few occasions. Falling asleep early evening and waking up at 9pm thinking it's 9am and I'm late for work 🙃

And memory loss...

I think you should at least call 111.

But then I only has disorientation after first waking up.

I've still been sharp at work. Still - maybe I should tell someone. I just know whoever I tell will panic but might be better off.

The fact that you fell asleep and was confused is enough to get checked out. Even though you were fine earlier, it’s only started to set in this evening

EBearhug · 01/06/2022 00:45

I've still been sharp at work.

Head injuries can get worse over time. If you hit your head a day ago, and forgot it, and have been feeling fatigue and confusion- being sharp at work doesn't mean things are okay because of these other signs. Please get checked out.

StormyWaterCloud · 01/06/2022 00:50

I agree, please get this checked out, you may not have the capacity to assess yourself and MN don't either!

Deathraystare · 01/06/2022 07:16

You are not alone!

If I do the early shift (7-1) when I get home I do sometimes have a little kip. I then 'come to' about 5-ish not sure if it is that afternoon or tomorrow morning! One day, I really wasn't sure so I put the tv on and realised it was the same day but in the afternoon!

I also was snoozing on a bus and did not recognise the stop I was at. Assuming I had gone on much too far as I did not recognise the place but then it slowly dawned on me I was looking at a green and there were shops on the other side. I regularly take this route at least once a week even if not working.....and yes, this is one of the stops the bus regularly stops at and is the stop I get on at to go home if I had been in the local cafe. Duh!

EBearhug · 02/06/2022 11:39

How are you now, @janeseymour78 ? Hope you've been checked, all is well, and you can have a great holiday weekend!
