Very embarrassing but what day/time is it?

Just that. Is it May 31st or June 1st and is it evening or morning?

I fell asleep at 6.30pm and was torn out of sleep after 7 thinking I'd actually slept until morning. I looked at my calendar and thought 'that can't be right.' Am I going mad or...

If also be concerned that you’re not well if you thought mumsnet was the best way to find out what time it was. Most people if they thought their phone was wrong would look at their watch, a clock, or turn on the tv

Sugarhouse · 31/05/2022 21:02

I did this once as a teenager and it was so disorientating. I fell asleep at some point after school and woke up at 7 thinking it was morning was so confused when I went downstairs and emmerdale was on I thought I’d slept all night. It’s a weird feeling isn’t it.

I don't have a watch, I only use streaming apps for tv and the one clock I have said it was 7 o'clock - which could have been am or pm. Not sure why it upsets you so much.

I've done that before, it is confusing

Doesn’t upset me at all. If you read my post properly I said I’d be concerned that you weren’t well. Most people wouldn’t take to an Internet forum to find out the time and date. Sounds like severe confusion or something but whatever 🤷‍♀️

TibetanTerrah · 31/05/2022 21:19

I had a dream the other night that I woke up and had lost two weeks like the most awful drunken blackout bender, but I had been sober. When I really woke up I was unsettled all day and kept checking the date Confused

Veryverycalmnow · 31/05/2022 21:24

I always feel weird after a nap and in your sleepy state you've got confused about how it's only been a short nap when it feels like a full night. Why are people getting cross with OP? Haha

TheGetaway · 31/05/2022 21:26

Windered why the hell we were having casserole for breakfast 😂

Today, Sir? Why it's Christmas day!

I did this a few a times as a teen as well, mega confusion when I woke up to Corrie and not TV am

USaYwHatNow · 31/05/2022 21:40

Eurgh I've done something similar to this years ago when I lived at home. Woke up in the middle of the night, jumped in the car in my work clothes and started driving to work. Got halfway there only to think 'Hmmm these roads are a bit quiet.' Drove home in disgust 😂

Samanabanana · 31/05/2022 21:40

But surely one look out the window at the light and it would have been obvious it was evening and not morning? Confused

StEvenEdge · 31/05/2022 21:41

Ignore all these catastrophisers. Having a nap really late in the day really messes with you. I used to do a sport to a high level and would often need to nap to get over training. I had a rule that I could not nap after 6pm others is it completely messes with me. Have experienced what you have, and have also experienced having napped 6.30-9pm and then not been able to sleep all night. Chalk it up to experience and don't nap late!

Eeebleeb · 31/05/2022 21:43

Napping makes me crazy disorientated, I wake up feeling like I'm not real and also on another planet. One reason I don't do it much lol.

It’s light at that time morning and evening at the moment

Samanabanana · 31/05/2022 21:50

Yes but the sun is in a different place in the sky in the morning, isn't it

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 31/05/2022 21:53

Hi op you obviously had a good power nap, and went into REM sleep. However if you are confused anymore throughout the next few days I’d take a little trip to Gps just to make sure you don’t have a uti or anything else that needs addressing.

Fossiltop · 31/05/2022 21:53

I’m regularly disorientated after a nap. And I have in the past asked on Facebook what day it is…

I cannot fathom how it is easier or quicker to type out a message on Facebook asking what day it is, when the very device you’re typing on will tell you what day it is

whiteroseredrose · 31/05/2022 22:01

This happened to a flatmate at college. She got up, showered, dressed and to the bus stop before a kindly passer by pointed out that the next bus wasn't for hours!

LeniGray · 31/05/2022 22:05

I quite regularly don’t know what day it is. Today I’ve had to remind myself several times that it’s Tuesday, having told a customer that ‘since it’s Friday …’ - only to be met with a bemused expression 😳 No idea why it’s just felt like a Friday to me?!

EmJay19 · 31/05/2022 22:06

Hi @janeseymour78 not sure if it’s been said but have you know Jed your head over the last few days? Could it be concussion? Hope you’re ok

EmJay19 · 31/05/2022 22:06

Knocked your head meant to say

janeseymour78 · 31/05/2022 22:08

@EmJay19 now you mention it I did actually. I hit my head quite hard yesterday on a cupboard - again something I never do.

I felt ok while working during the day though.
