Do you clean behind your bath panel?

Under your kitchen cupboards behind the kickboards?
In the loft?

Nope. And not going to either, whatever this thread reveals!

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 30/05/2022 17:51

Christ, no.

I’d probably find the mummified corpses of all the creatures the cats have brought in and released.

SirChenjins · 30/05/2022 17:52

Good no. Are you meant to? Confused

Glitterspy · 30/05/2022 17:53

Errrr no, I had never thought to! Do you OP?

LynneBenfield · 30/05/2022 17:54

No, unless exceptional circumstances eg having work done, bathroom or kitchen changed, loft boarded, or moving in/out so loft empty and could do with a sweep/de-cobwebbing.

I really don’t think people do it routinely. Not even people with cleaning OCD.

RichardOsmansXraySpecs · 30/05/2022 17:55

I barely clean in front of the bath panel.

Oblomov22 · 30/05/2022 17:56

No. Are you supposed to?

FiveShelties · 30/05/2022 18:00

Absolutely. I love to go and have a dust in the loft, so therapeutic.

TheCaddieisaBaddie · 30/05/2022 18:01

Oh yes, on a daily basis in all of those places. I also change and wash all bedding everyday and pull all kitchen appliances out and clean behind and underneath, if my Dh asks. However in this reality and universe, I moved in 18yrs ago and new bathroom fitted, never seen the other side of the bath panel since.

Manekinek0 · 30/05/2022 18:02

No way! I have multiple junk drawers and under my stairs is rammed. I do the bare minimum to keep the house reasonably presentable but open my wardrobe and you'll see the truth.

TheChosenTwo · 30/05/2022 18:03

My bath panel is tiled, it’s complicated getting it off - I’ve never cleaned behind it.
My cleaner does behind the kick boards during a deep clean when we’re on holiday.
We have put bedrooms and a bathroom in our loft - dusting must take place up there but again, not by me 😂

MrsMoastyToasty · 30/05/2022 18:06

Bath panel = no. The gubbins for the whirlpool thingammy are under the bathtub.
Kick panels = yes, this year for the first time in 20 years. Had the double whammy of a mice infestation and flour weevils.

MrsEthelMorningtonCrescent · 30/05/2022 18:18

We will do behind the bath panel when it comes off for some plumbing as in vacuum it out and clean any yucky stuff we can reach. It probably won't go back on and needs a plastic one to replace it. Wood in a bathroom is not a good idea and it's warped and painted over the screws! My brother-in-law says he vacuumed and cleaned a bit behind his and under the bath as part of a plumbing job too and found all sorts of rubbish left by the previous owners/dodgy-DIYers! But no we don't do it regularly. Some people keep things behind their panel, such as cleaning stuff, if I did that I'd keep it cleaner.

Behind the kickboard and under that cupboard when we took it off to get a washing machine in, the rest of the time maybe once in ten years?

Don't have a loft now, we didn't clean loft (except for maybe a wipe down of dusty boxes and beams before bringing boxes down, to avoid whipping up dust) when we had a loft. Also cleared up after problems with water tank, obviously.

I do think dealing with dust and dead insects and water and so on is a good idea when it makes sense to do so, but not to get it to what I'd call clean regularly, and I personally do like things clean generally.

MrsEthelMorningtonCrescent · 30/05/2022 18:20

I feel that I got a bit too invested in my answer there, and am now off to wonder why that was! (Difficult day chez moi.)

MarmiteOnToast · 30/05/2022 18:20

Cupboards inside and out and kick boards fairly regularly. For some reason they get disgusting at times.

Tops of cupboards occasionally. Normally if going to paint kitchen

Bath panel front yes. Behind no?

Happycow · 30/05/2022 18:20

Say what now?? Of course i bloody havent!

DramaAlpaca · 30/05/2022 18:21

No. All kickboards and the bath panel are fixed in place so I can't get at them. Obviously in an emergency I could, but I wouldn't remove them routinely. As for the attic, god no.

FlibbertyGibbitt · 30/05/2022 19:08

No. Life’s too short .

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/05/2022 19:09

Has your mil housework shamed you?

TheFoxAndTheStar · 30/05/2022 19:10

No.

I don’t clean behind the plasterboard or under the floorboards either.

Why?

BarbaraofSeville · 30/05/2022 19:24

Well of course. Because that's where the cannabis farm is and where we hide the drugs prior to distribution and I'm not being judged for slatternly housekeeping if we get raided by the rozzers.

SpaceJamtart · 30/05/2022 19:40

I didn't know you could remove the bath panel, bit scared to have a look now

FindingMeno · 30/05/2022 19:46

I was just musing...
No, I don't do any of those things, but I got thinking.
All this clean house lark is just an illusion isn't it really?
Just behind the kickboards and bath panels, all horrors are probably lurking, but it's out of sight and out of mind.

linerforlife · 30/05/2022 19:48

I bleach those areas daily. Doesn't everyone Confused

TheGlitterati · 30/05/2022 19:49

I do clean the loft including hoovering it but it’s like an extra room up there to be honest, I’m in it so often (storage is limited)
