I'm just drinking my first cuppa; it's very peaceful other than a neighbour's dog whining 🤷‍♀️

I'm planning on having a relaxing day today after a busy end of half term week & then being out with my Guides yesterday.

There's still towels to wash though, some cups from last night to wash up, and tea to cook. I might even iron the school shirts so they're done.

I want to re-write my to-do list as well, so I can read it and maybe tick off a couple of small things.

I expect the girls will not do much of anything today either, although they were keen on trying out lots of recipes over half term so maybe we'll attempt one of the sweet ones or iced tea ones.

For tea it's pork loin steaks with garlic roast potatoes, and salad. 🍷for me.

What's everyone else up to? 🙂

I’m sat in A&E to have an infection reviewed and a decision on next steps. I won’t be mowing the lawn even though I need to.
Otherwise I’m dreaming of my summer holiday and planning outfits in my head as that’s all I can practically do.
Dinner will be something easy from the fridge for obvious reasons but it’s nice to have an excuse to do that.

SunnyLobelia · 29/05/2022 09:02

Ooh hope you are okay @Procrastatron

I have spent some time in the garden after waking at 4 am. I fed the birds and the fish and listened to next door's dogs give the foxes a hurry up (who were then fed here with Aldi £1 frozen sausages which DH cooks for them for breakfast. One of the mother foxes has a limp so she comes in for breakfast and we feed her lots so she does not have to hunt food out).

DH has just woken up. Today I need to finish packing for our holiday. I am about to have a third cup of coffee and a ham sandwich.

DS1 is awake and palying roblox. DS2 is in the shower. I am hopeful that we might eat fish and chips on our patio as I do not want to cook.

Haybo26 · 29/05/2022 09:05

Currently still lying in bed, listening to hubby snore! Lazy day planned for us I think which suits me.

Will cook a roast later for tea.

I've been up with the kids since 6 so have been relaxing on the sofa with them for a while.
They're now playing duplo and I'm planning our summer.

We've just booked our main holiday so will spend today panicking about the money we've just spent 😭

We're off out for brunch later and then just a chilled day riding bikes and playing in the garden I think.

DonnaRhea · 29/05/2022 09:12

Hope you get everything sorted @Procrastatron and are home soon
I'm still in bed but the curtains open looking out on all the rabbits in the garden and listening to the birds
It's my favourite part of the weekend

DinosaurRenaissance · 29/05/2022 09:17

Morning

Also hope you're ok @Procrastatron

@SunnyLobelia That's really sweet that you run a fox diner!

If the weather holds, I've got a day of gardening ahead of me. We have two big veg trugs with lots of pots underneath, and every now and then we have to pull all of the pots out of the way to sweep up the huge piles of eucalyptus leaves that the wind blows under there. I think some of my strawberry plants have established runners down there too, so if I can save the new plants then that's a bonus.

There's also chillies to pot on, runner beans to sow and some annual climbers to plant out.

Aside from that the baby is right on the verge of crawling so much of the day will be spent retrieving her from whichever inappropriate bit of the living room she's managed to shuffle/roll/drag herself to in her eagerness to get going, and returning her to a central spot.

F1 race later too, although it's Monaco, which I'm less fussed about.

Roast chicken for dinner. Trifle for dessert.

Calyx72 · 29/05/2022 09:20

Morning Smile
I am in bed writing my journal app
My husband is in the living room scrolling his phone and watching TV
I plan to finish the washing and put the dry clothes away; look at my exercise subscription and plan a weekly exercise programme (as just winging it isn't working!) and clean my bathroom.
Have a lovely day!

Glitterspy · 29/05/2022 09:22

I’ve had my tea and morning smoothie (ta Joe Wicks) and am just playing with the puppy in the garden.

later we’ll have a short stroll at the local national trust and come back to eat leftover takeaway and watch Kardashians on tv. And read East of Eden. Possibly do some light sorting of drawers/DD’s bedroom (aargh) and/or wash some towels. Just to make me feel like I’ve achieved something useful today…

DH and kids are away - full bliss mode is ON.

Signoramarella · 29/05/2022 09:23

Morning all. Tidying up after a teen sleepover ...washing and some gardening. Oh and packing for our trip on Tues! Swinging by local to watch footy later....

Cookiecrumble22 · 29/05/2022 09:47

Morning. I'm waiting for some energy to kick in. Then I'm going to clean all the landings /hall/bannisters and walls. Will start from the top and work my way down. Need to sort out the kids clothes drawers as well. Put a wash on

Spag bol for dinner probably.

milkysmum · 29/05/2022 09:50

Just about to head out with DS (10) to his last football match of the season.

Simonjt · 29/05/2022 10:00

@Procrastatron I hope everything is sorted soon and you aren’t feeling too ill.

We had a big night out last night, I didn’t drink but I’m feeling fairly delicate, I’m too old for this.

This is officially my last week of adoption leave before my husband takes over, I’m not ready to go back so we’re keeping busy this week. We’re off to our little holiday home today for halfterm, we’re stopping at a farm park halfway to break the journey up/get rinsed by the £2 a go bags of feed that are thimble sized.

Grandma lives near our holiday home so she is going to come over this evening for dinner. Once the smalls are asleep we’re going to start the new series of stranger things.

Procrastatron · 29/05/2022 10:21

Aw thanks everyone, I have been seen and had an intervention that would delight Sporners Corner here. I’m to keep taking my AntiBs and should be ok. Heading home now for a bucket of coffee and a general chill out. 😎

lucysmam · 29/05/2022 11:20

@Procrastatron that sounds both painful, and relieving! Hopefully the AB's help Thanks

@Simonjt I didn't drink at The Killers on Tuesday, but still felt delicate for a couple of days after & my voice is still a tad rough 🤣 Must be an age thing!

Love reading these threads!

I've been up with the kids and started Dr Julie smiths book "why did nobody tell me this before?" and so far excellent reading.

Followed by a bit of pottering about and ironing. Just made an early lunch and then off to my mums to collect something and then the kids have a birthday party.

Once we are home it'll be close enough to bedtime for the kids.

Dh out tonight so hopefully find something decent to watch (any Netflix recommendations??)

goldeneg · 29/05/2022 11:38

Got up at 6am to get a wash on and hung out early
cleaned the kitchen
hoovered downstairs
did some de cluttering all before dc and she woke up at 8. Made them all toast and fruit and coffee/hot chocolate

Took dc out to park then came back and took dd to cafe nearby as she’s been a bit down lately.

now home again and starting on decluttering upstairs as starting renovations soon and need to get things organised.

Funkyslippers · 29/05/2022 11:43

Got up at 7.30, then DD2 and I did cat and rabbit sitting, lots of bookings this week so no lie ins. Cane back and DD2 baked a pancake tray bake which we ate.

Watching TV with DD2, DD1 will be home soon after her drumming lesson. Then we might all watch BGT from last night. This afternoon I'm going to David Lloyd then more cat/rabbit sitting, then tea, then OH and I are going to a quiz. I love lazy days and I love having older kids!!!

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 29/05/2022 13:49

I love these threads. Taking it easy today after a busy day yesterday. DD’s still in her pyjamas and I can’t bring myself to care!
Having lunch shortly and then might nip over to see my parents while DP takes DD to the park.
Will have leftover Chinese takeaway for supper and then hopefully catch up with Sewing Bee.

Glad you’ve been drained, @Procrastatron - hope it wasn’t too painful.

Bonjovispjs · 29/05/2022 13:53

I'm about to have an afternoon nap😊😴

Charlavail · 29/05/2022 14:07

Been up since 5. Ran round the house like a mad person while DS slept and DD ate her breakfast.
Played with DD trying to make it a bit educational and keeping her away from screens in between feeding DS who refused his nap and is now very grumpy.
DD is going to a disco tonight with cousins and friends so they are coming round here for Mcdonalds and a communal bath. Glad I have baby DS so I can stay here while the aunties go to the disco!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 29/05/2022 14:11

Suffering with the, by now traditional, half-term cold and feeling sorry for myself. So I'm watching back-to-back Murder, She Wrote and drinking buckets of tea 🤧

desperatehousewife21 · 29/05/2022 14:19

Roast chicken cooking, DD is upstairs chilling/ watching tv/ chatting to friends etc, DS is round a friends house but under strict instruction to be home for the roast!

DH and I both sat on the sofa, browsing phones, dog and rabbit both snoozing.

After the roast we’ll all sit and watch the next episode of stranger things 4.

A very lazy, but relaxed, Sunday.

Eggsley · 29/05/2022 14:20

Had a bit of a lie in, took DS2 to football training. Then popped out to Tesco and to pick up a Greggs for lunch, which we've just finished. DS1 has just gone to carry on gaming, DS2 is eating crisps and bouncing around the living room and DH is on his phone. About to tidy up and let DDog out into the garden for a bit. Having a lazy afternoon as got a busy week at work ahead. Need to tidy up later on and do some admin stuff. Steak for dinner and then the new season of Stranger Things when the DC are in bed.

hellotec · 29/05/2022 14:25

Took my eldest to swimming class this morning then went to a party with all 3 of them. They had a blast with face painting, hand painting, lots of foods. It was in a great big hall and parents were invited to bring all their kids and a dish to share. Everyone brought lovely amazing foods and everyone had a great time. Must have easily been about 100 people! Finished and we are home now. Thinking to take them to the park later but undecided. We brought left overs from the party - this is how much food there was! So no cooking tonight.

bloodywhitecat · 29/05/2022 14:28

Today was the day I discovered that He-Who-Will-Probably-Never-Walk not only walks and runs but climbs. Out of his cot. And strips off. He is just 2.

Today was also the day I discovered that I can build a toddler bed (luckily DH had left all the fixings attached to the dismantled toddler bed). I am getting better at DIY DH would be pleased to know.
