2 meat eaters
1 vegetarian
2 kiddies, one will probably have ramen off kiddies menu (portion size?)
Have never been before. Is a birthday treat.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance Flowers

Katsu chicken. It's breaded chicken (a bit like m&s) with a delicious mild curry sauce, served with white rice. My kids love it.

FitAt50 · 28/05/2022 20:54

Totally chicken katsu curry - best thing ever.

Another vote for katsu! It also comes in yasai (vegetable), seitan and tofu so the vegetarian can try it too.

Duchessofmuchness · 28/05/2022 20:57

If they don't like curry sauce you can adame sauce on the side of the katsu curry .

doodlejump1980 · 28/05/2022 20:57

Veggie katsu. Think it’s breaded aubergine and/or sweet potato in a delicious sauce. So yummy!

DoubleGauze · 28/05/2022 20:58

Bao buns and gyoza. My kids love both.

MangoM · 28/05/2022 20:59

The bang bang cauliflower is lovely if you like things spicy

NippyWoowoo · 28/05/2022 21:00

Ebi katsu.

Yaki soba noodles.

Try the gyoza deep fried, I quite like the duck one.

DisforDarkChocolate · 28/05/2022 21:01

Wok Fried greens. My favourite side, very very garlicy.

AnElegantChaos · 28/05/2022 21:02

Whatever main you decide on also have the greens on the side - pak choi and broccoli cooked in a shitload of garlic. So tasty!

BracedlnEndIessJanuary · 28/05/2022 21:03

Thanks. It is blooming expensive so do not want empty plates at the end Wink or rumbling bellies. DS has requested it (on spectrum) as only thing he wants for his birthday so am hoping it pans out. I had katsu chicken rice bowl in tesco cafe once! Grin Hope it is nicer than that (no disrespect to any tesco employees on MN. It is just that I was not very full and it was not that flavoursome).

Nothing. It's terrible!

Whatshouldbemyusername · 28/05/2022 21:04

Ah the veg itame is good too and if the vegetarian can take spice then firecracker curry (tofu!). Can't go wrong with Wagamama for vegetarians

DogsAndGin · 28/05/2022 21:05

Yaki soba chicken and prawn is amazing! Also, remember to order Japanese pickles as a side.

The vegetarian Yaki soba is great too.

Chilli squid as a side.

Katsu curry is good - but it’s chicken and rice, so not very exciting.

AnElegantChaos · 28/05/2022 21:05

That explains why it's so popular then.

TheTonEffect · 28/05/2022 21:05

I love the beef brisket ramen 😋

If any of you are emergency services/NHS they are doing a Blue Light discount now.

AnElegantChaos · 28/05/2022 21:06

Tirediam · 28/05/2022 21:06

Vegan ribs. ALL my meat eating friends love them. They are the best

BracedlnEndIessJanuary · 28/05/2022 21:07

Aw platinum For reasons stated above (birthday boy ASC) I have promised him ramen. Anywhere in Chester that does ramen, then, please recommend. I could always do click and collect at Wagamama, which might be better for him anyway but did not want it to go cold and we are on holiday there.

Not emergency services, sadly. They deserve any discount they get, mind.
Am in education. Any discount for dealing with teens gratefully accepted Wink

Yaki soba noodles and chicken gyoza is my go to order... ooooo I could eat that right now!

fireandpaint · 28/05/2022 21:13

Ginger chicken udon is so good for the meat eater. I usually go for the vegetarian ramen as don't eat much meat. I find Katsu curry a bit boring but its obviously a popular one. There's a good kids menu, my two just like the chicken and noodles with sweetcorn and cucumber. And the green tea is free so always worth getting.

dizzygirl1 · 28/05/2022 21:13

Chicken teriyaki donburi
No duck donburi
Bang bang cauliflower
Green tea
Peach iced tea

yikesanotherbooboo · 28/05/2022 21:14

My DC liked most of the sides; edamame/ squid/gyoza etc
Chicken ramen/yaki udon or Katsu curry( the latter isn't my favourite but family members like it).
