Wagamama virgin - what do you recommend?

1 vegetarian
2 kiddies, one will probably have ramen off kiddies menu (portion size?)
Have never been before. Is a birthday treat.
Any recommendations?

Firecracker chicken is amazing but very spicy!

Earplugs. It's always stupid loud in there.

Chicken teriyaki donburi - it’s just lovely chicken and rice, I don’t think any one would be offended by it.

tempura fried veg is yum.

thats what I have - the kids just love the ramen stuff etc but I don’t like all that.

Duck donburi is my go-to. I love it, especially with the kimchi on the side. Neither my kids nor DH are particularly into the food there, so I tend to only eat there alone 😔

Another one for peach iced tea and chicken teriyaki donburi. The gyoza are good too.

The Katsu is amazing for meat eaters

The katsu curry sauce is crap. I dunno what they put in it but it tastes nasty and dusty. Any bog standard japanese-ish restaurant will have nicer curry sauce than wagamama.

Also their gyoza (fried or steamed - I've tried them all) are rubbish, disappointing and salty with weak vinegar dressing for dipping.

The nicest thing they have is the coconut icecream with mango sauce on it.

I’m vegetarian and I love the raisukaree tofu curry it’s amazing! Mild, coconut based with lots of fresh veggies.

I love the pad Thai, also the teriyaki salmon soba. Chilli squid is my favourite side 😋 Want Wagamamas now!

All amazing

Oh and the white chocolate and ginger cheesecake is divine

Firecracker chicken, chilli squid, wok fried greens, gyoza and bao buns are also good. DS likes pretty much anything from the kids' menu. Must be nearly a year since my last wagamama, might be time for a visit.

Any of the teppanyaki dishes are better than the ramen.

Veggie: yadai pad Thai (tofu)

Meat: ginger chicken udon

Heads up for your autistic boy- the ramen doesn't often come quite how it looks on the menu. It's a soup, usually with all the bits at the bottom under the water, but in the picture all the noodles etc are spilling over the top (but it was delicious enough that my little boy managed to get over his default "but it's not RIGHT!" reaction)

40: Yaki soba with chicken and prawn

Donburi would be my second choice but I always get number 40.

They stopped doing my favourite dessert (sniff) but the Banana Katsu is quite good.

I think I love everything on the menu. But duck don buri is my favourite.

Went last night. Ginger chicken udon with a side of edamame beans with chilli and salt. I always have the same!

The fresh juices are great.

My daughter loves the fish balls from the kids menu.

We are going shopping tomorrow and I expect to end up there for lunch as my daughter loves it.

Yasai Yaki Soba is amazing!!!

I haven’t tried the other dishes because I can’t stop ordering this one 👀

Bao buns, chilli squid (there is a vegan version with king oyster mushrooms which is really nice!), wok fried greens. Then either katsu curry or a spicy ramen.
