I'm interested to know if this is normal for her age. Just for fun, but she does want to be an artist when she grows up. I thought her older sister had drawn it so that's what made me ask.

Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas · 27/05/2022 15:10

4 to 8 depending on ability but my kid’s aren’t blessed in the art department.

GallopingGreen · 27/05/2022 15:11

I would say that is similar standard to my 6 and 7 year olds...

TigerLilyTail · 27/05/2022 15:12

I work with 5-year-olds and I agree this is pretty typical for this age group. If she is younger, say 3, I think it's impressive.

I have a student who is 5 and he draws the most incredible dinosaurs from memory. They are really detailed and the proportions are amazing. much better than I could draw!

CottonSock · 27/05/2022 15:12

I'm not blessed in the art department either @Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas . Maybe that's why I thought this was good.

CottonSock · 27/05/2022 15:16

@BarbaraWoodlouse I know, I've never been brave enough to do a thread like this before.

Now I just spilled a cup of squash over the masterpiece. Big opps.

Really my kids only started drawing like that when they were about 7.

WhoopItUp · 27/05/2022 15:16

Another vote for year 1 (aged 5-6).

ENoeuf · 27/05/2022 15:17

Maybe preschool? By reception year mine were using acrylic and oil to add depth.
