Just went for a coffee with a friend who's newly dating a guy from France and is obsessed with his accent, thinks it's sexy.

I'm just outside of London and so is DP and we're from the same town and so I don't even register that he has an accent but people (usually from more northern regions) have commented that he has a very 'cockney london' accent.

I'm a bit of a sucker for a geordie or Scottish accent on a guy. What about everyone else?

I think she is yeah

DameHelena · 24/05/2022 15:23

Glaswegian
Northern Irish
Some Welsh (I don't know which ones, only know which I like when I hear one, don't shoot me)
TBH can't really think of any non-British ones I particularly like. Although Argentinians speaking Spanish sound beautiful.

Ooh yeah I like a nice Scottish accent on a bloke, not picky what region.
A Spanish one is quite nice too.

West Lothian Scottish accents. Might be why I bought new windows a few weeks ago, the salesman was from that area.

@fluffycereal
I don't think it's rude to say a Scottish accent. It could be that they like all Scottish accents so is a compliment. It's like American saying an English accent. There are enough similarities between them for an American to be tell it's an English one without distinguishing between the regions.

Finalcountdowntoourtripaway · 24/05/2022 16:02

Feeling was reciprocal afa accent as he was a fan of Geordie!!

Pretty much any Scottish accent makes me go a bit weak at the knees.

Scots, Irish, soft Geordie, Sean Bean (only on Sean Bean).

cds5163 · 24/05/2022 16:49

I have never had a thing for accents until I heard a Scottish man speak.

fluffycereal · 24/05/2022 18:18

I don't think it's rude to say a Scottish accent.

I didn't say it was rude to say that? The rude was in reference to the response when I pointed out all Scottish people don't have the same accent.

Soubriquet · 24/05/2022 18:19

Scottish
Spanish
Australian

Any American particularly New York, Boston or Southern. And Northern Irish, oh my ...

EBearhug · 24/05/2022 18:24

There's a particular Irish accent I have a huge weak spot for, but I suspect it wouldn't have quite the same effect if it were his brother speaking...
