Morning all! What's everyone doing today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in silence, it's lovely. I'll open the window in a minute though for some fresh air & so I can hear what's going on around me.

I have quite an epic list for today - none of it's overly time consuming but, done at a steady pace, it'll fill the day.

I'm just about to start adding some detail to some peg people while it's quiet. Then I'll get dressed. After that;it's ironing, Asda, cut the egg cups out of egg boxes, finish the peg people, help dd2 with homework.

Both girls wanted to do some more experimenting in the kitchen so we'll squeeze that in somewhere too. & if I get to it, I want to start on a selfie prop for Friday and then to use with my Rainbows and Guides after half term.

So busy & productive, but not too taxing, here.

Roast chicken for tea 😋 accompanied by a glass of wine for me.

What about you lot? 🙂

Just had a cup of tea in bed.

Am considering getting up to do a bit of exercise (possibly a beginners hiit from YouTube and a bit of yoga).

Dd2 has a fitness session which dh will take her too so will probably go and shop - honestly we are like old mother Hubbard today! Dds then want to go swimming so I'll take them and do a bit of gentle mum breaststroke whilst they act the goat.

I want to do a bit of meal prep for me for the week. Stop myself grabbing crap. Maybe walk with dh round the block at the end of the afternoon.

So a bit of a potter day. Hope to have some time to read my book and watch a bit of tv with the kids.

MintyCedricRidesAgain · 22/05/2022 08:52

Ots the first anniversary of my lovely dad passing away tomorrow.

Am going to spend the afternoon and overnight/tomorrow with mum, which may well be challenging, so this morning I'm going for a walk to what I think of as my dad's spot on the Downs.

Brunch with DD when I get back and then getting some stuff together. Going to take some wool and start learning crochet I think.

ChiswickFlo · 22/05/2022 08:56

Best of luck @MintyCedricRidesAgain and love for tomorrow x

I'm still in bed but no headache today which means I'm going to be cleaning :(

That's it, really. I'd like to finish my book but it's not gripping me tbh

I need ☕️

I'm tired and don't want to do anything but its a lovely day out there so I'm waiting for the neighbour to come out of her house (the window in front of me overlooks her front door, very handy!) so I can ask to borrow a rake and then I can get on with tidying up the garden while my 4 year old plays. I made a tiramisu when I got up for pudding today, never made one before so not sure its turned out right but we'll see later.
DS is currently on the sofa playing some paw patrol game even though I'm fairly sure I told him its time to switch off 5 minutes ago.
DD has jujitsu and gets her gi today so she's very excited about that. OH is just having a guitar playing day it seems.

DotBall · 22/05/2022 09:02

I’m going to tootle off up the stables shortly, get my horse in, groom her and hack out with a mate.

When I get home I’m going to move my sprout plants from their seed bed into the final growing space and put the netting over them,

Corned beef pie for tea 😋

@MintyCedricRidesAgain Take comfort on your time on the downs, remember to look after yourself when dealing with your mum, hopefully she lives somewhere that you can keep popping outside if it's bad.
i took some grief to rough seafront on Friday..it helped. Take care.

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 22/05/2022 09:06

In bed but getting up soon - going to have a big breakfast as I’m working 11 til 3 without a break. DD13 has just got back from a walk. DH will clean out the rabbit hutches later. He’s also going to Asda & cleaning the bathroom. Yummy tea of bangers, mash & beans. We’ll probably catch up with more Greys Anatomy tonight. Wine will definitely be involved for me!

devildeepbluesea · 22/05/2022 09:14

I was out before 7 walking dogs. Just eaten bacon, scrambled eggs and tomatoes.
Need a shower, then a trip to Lidl. Dropping dog at ExDH and DD, then heading west to see some friends. Day off tomorrow in case it gets boozy!

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 22/05/2022 09:15

Morning all, been up since 7 with little ones. Teens still in bed, tired from yesterday. No win but DC came runner up in a few events so that was good. Lovely day, great atmosphere!

Just got the 2nd lot of uniform washed and on the line.

On my second cup of tea and just enjoying some doorstop toast, proper butter and marmalade.

Taking my eldest for a coffee later on this morning, we try to spend one on one time with the children individually especially the older ones as it's important they have that individual parents attention.

Afternoon just the usual Sunday chores, playing in the garden etc.

Lasagne and garlic bread for dinner.

Bath and early night for me!

LaurieFairyCake · 22/05/2022 09:21

Up at 5am

Preaching a service today Grin

MintyCedricRidesAgain · 22/05/2022 09:27

@ChiswickFlo thank you...hope things are on a relatively even keel for you today.

@KarenLovesRosario thanks. I hope your seafront trip helped. I'm very lucky that I live between the downs and sea so have both options.

I haven't been to dad's spot since Christmas and I actually buried a tiny amount of his ashes up there then so it's the right place for me today, although it means walking place the nursing home where he died which I think is somewhat holding me back from leaving the house atm.

KarenLovesRosario · 22/05/2022 09:46

@MintyCedricRidesAgain
I do absolutely know that feeling lovely, but you do know I'm sure that once you get past the nursing home and get to the downs how much nature will help you (went to school in Sussex, in Wales now have both mountains and sea so same as you feel lucky)
It's actually something similar I need to do now myself.
Good luck for both of us today

Lonelycrab · 22/05/2022 09:58

Gonna cut my little back lawn that has turned into a meadow, I did the no mow May thing.

Then get a(nother) big jug of coffee on the go and settle in for the mountain biking from Scotland around lunchtime. Glorious day here in the SE, not so nice in Fort William….

Sending thoughts.

As it happens today is the first anniversary of my lovely dad passing away, and am taking my mum and brother for a little walk on the downs too, and then out for lunch, to be a change of scene from their house.

So just spending it quietly together and remembering Dad.

ChiswickFlo · 22/05/2022 10:11

1 load of washing on (that's all washing wise today..)
I'll put it on the line. Need a new tumble dryer :(
I've done the cleaning I'm doing today - just got the ironing to do later
Dh and I are planning to go for a walk somewhere later

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 22/05/2022 10:18

Just pottering about tidying up from breakfast and, getting school bits done. Off to in laws for bbq later. DC are going in their proper hot tub (we only have an inflatable one 🙄) we’re most probably play some darts and snooker too, as I’m determined to beat my FIL before coming home and chilling.

@Lonelycrab Aww leave it still now though ? Or just mow a path
Anyway enjoy your bike ride though how amazing

Lonelycrab · 22/05/2022 10:26

@KarenLovesRosario oh ok you’ve persuaded me. It does look lovely how it is.

And I’m not going for a ride, just watching the racing on the telly!

Going for a "posh" lunch with a group! Feet up contemplating what makeup to "slap" on in this heat.

KarenLovesRosario · 22/05/2022 10:31

@Lonelycrab
Oh it's so very beautiful !!!
Yes I pressed send then realised straight away what you meant..duh..still exciting though

caringcarer · 22/05/2022 10:32

A bit of Chemistry prep for D's as exam next Friday. Then he is off to play in cricket match and I shall watch and have a lovely picnic that DH has just popped out to get from Morrisons. Nice sunny day ahead.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 22/05/2022 10:38

We've got a pleasantly chilled day today, so bits of cooking and cleaning interspersed with reading and drinking Earl Grey by the gallon.

Moussaka for supper 😋

ShirleyJackson · 22/05/2022 10:42

I was up early this morning - had breakfast in bed, did Wordle and Quordle, meditated, then went to the local lake for my first open water swim of the season.

Came home, watered and fussed over my vegetable beds. Will walk the dogs in a minute, then have a run.

Then off to the supermarket for the makings of a roast. Think it’ll be lamb.

And after that, I intend to do bugger all but read and lounge about!

Natsku · 22/05/2022 10:42

I got fed up of waiting for the neighbour to come outside so I raked up last year's leaves with half a rake (the top half broke off some time) and came back in and got a nice surprise in my emails - finally got my grade for my open university Finnish course, got a 5 which is the top grade! So I shall spend the rest of the time feeling proud of myself and smugly telling DD that my Finnish skills aren't, in fact, terrible, they are erinomainen!

BrutusMcDogface · 22/05/2022 10:43

I feel so miserable on Sundays; the thought of the working week ahead and so much laundry/schoolwork/tidying and sorting to do. Wish I had your energy and positivity!
