Would you shag someone for one million pounds?

Just that. Would you? Financial security for life if you forget your morals for half an hour... genuinely wondering how many are yes / no

there's an old joke about this...

A man walks up to a woman at a bar and asks "Would you have sex with me for a million pounds?"
She replies "Well, that is a lot of money, ok."
He then asks "Well then, will you do it for 10 pounds?"
She replies " Of course not, what do you think I am a whore?"
He says "I've already established that, at this point we're simply negotiating."

Haha I'd be happily called a whore for a million. A tenner no thank you.

Yea it's the same terms but a million in the bank. Homes for my me and my wider family fuck yes.

They'd call me a super star as would I them. Why is the shame on the one getting paid? Not on the one that's paying???

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 22/05/2022 20:39

Lighthearted or not, some of what is being said about Timothy Spall is a bit tasteless.

Powerful world leaders, especially those who are deeply unpleasant in their character, beliefs and behaviours (is there another kind?) and known disgusting individuals are fair enough, but it's a bit mean to be so personal about the looks of a talented actor who appears to be a perfectly nice bloke, but just happens not to be the most conventionally best-looking man out there.

So much this. A lot of sneering on here about prostitutes. And that whore joke 🙄...

Where is the distaste for the men driving this business?

I always say my worst nightmare would be to shag Timothy Spall...
But I would for a million...I want a detached house..

I bet TS wouldn't touch you with a bargepole, far less offer you a million pounds.

It's a crap joke anyway. If you've just offered £1m for something and the other person has accepted, you don't then get to negotiate downwards. That's not how haggling generally works. The joke's very much on the punter there, only he's too busy being a thick misogynist to have noticed.

Damned if I'm shagging someone I don't fancy so someone else can get the dosh. Stupid Leonard.

In the context, it was to help his university dept get new equipment.

I'm not sneering about anybody. I think the vast, vast majority of prostitutes would not do it if they weren't desperate for the money; my outlook is that it's a terribly sad state of affairs that such a thing apparently has to exist, and I do judge the men who use women in this way far more than the women whose 'consent' they are buying.

You can have a lighthearted thread about sleeping with somebody and getting a million to pay off your mortgage, buy a sports car/world cruise/diamonds or whatever, but the reality is that there are many, many women out there who see no option but to sell the exploitation of their bodies in order to get a few quid to feed their kids or avoid being made homeless.

To be honest, I took it as read that the men making the theoretical £1m offer would, although financially rich, be morally bankrupt and the sleaziest, slimiest, most unpleasant people you could imagine. The 'everyday' men who use 'everyday' prostitutes aren't really any better, mind.

@WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll when people said 'keep it light...' this isn't what they meant.

mjf981 · 23/05/2022 03:48

100% yes I would. It would change my life forever more. And I'd probably do it for much less money, depending on who it was.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 23/05/2022 06:31

@Flavourflava

Fair enough. I still don't quite get the point about why you'd ask a question about a (for some) weighty moral dilemma - lighthearted or not - without caring to consider the reasoning behind people's answers to that question.

Otherwise, to me, it just seems like you're asking two questions: whom you would like/wouldn't object to having sex with and if you would also like to have a lot of money, without any particular link between the two; but I accept that I (and a few other PP) are in the minority there, so I'll bow out.

MrsDThomas · 23/05/2022 06:58

Yes. My DH would definitely allow it. I think he’d make sure i did😂

What a shame.....

Anskl · 19/04/2023 11:29

Yes, but they'd probably ask for their money back.

Anskl · 19/04/2023 11:29

Yes, but they'd probably ask for their money back.

Make sure they pay in advance and have a no refunds policy..

Zippedydoo123 · 19/04/2023 14:39

I would do it sure. As long as it was with a condom. And the person was clean polite and respectful.

I am not in a relationship so it isn't doing anything behind a partner's back.

Zippedydoo123 · 19/04/2023 14:40

I could retire then and do some voluntary work instead. Sounds blissful.....

newfriend05 · 19/04/2023 14:49

Yep

astarsheis · 19/04/2023 14:51

Yep

evalsaro · 19/04/2023 14:51

Yes, no problem.

I'd do it for less.

I'd also expect my husband to do so. Grin

legoohno · 19/04/2023 14:52

Yes.

But money up front.

54isanopendoor · 19/04/2023 14:55

MrsWooster · 21/05/2022 12:08

Given my current very specific situation, yes. It would give family permanent financial stability.
I’d have to lie to kids though, which is pretty revealing about my real feelings about it.

I feel exactly the same about it @MrsWooster

hiredandsqueak · 19/04/2023 14:56

Yes without a second thought but I'm single so can suit myself.

Applesinmyhouse · 19/04/2023 14:58

Not if they looked like the elephant man or had some disease but otherwise, absolutely.

shivawn · 19/04/2023 15:00

No I wouldn't. 1 million wouldn't make that big of a difference to my life to be honest. I'd probably have a bigger house and car but it's not worth that.

maddy68 · 19/04/2023 15:02

Yes!
