I've had a lie in & am just drinking my first cuppa of the day. The washer's on already so it's not as peaceful as usual 🙄

We're nipping into town for a few bits soonish; I need to chivvy dd1 along to get her shower & make sure dd2's actually awake first though. I want a new pair of jeans & some pumps for my feet. I fancy trying my hand at customised Converse too, but think I'll go with Primarni's version!

Later on, it's diy pizzas for tea. We haven't got much in the way of toppings in though so will nip in Sainsbury's in town. Dd2 needs dough and ingredients for food tech this week too.

I'll probably carry on with my peg doll numbers and frog life cycle for work later on. No idea what the girls plan to do - I'll check what homework they have while we're out.

What about all of you? 🙂

Love these threads!

I'm about to tidy the kitchen after a late breakfast. I'm at church this morning, should stay and help out with choir practice after service. Depending on how late it runs...

I'll be at work 4-10pm, and I'm just hoping they've been able to cool the building overnight because it was so hot this week here. Showers last night - the air is noticeably less stuffy.

Late night for me as we'll go for drinks / dinner once work is finished. Some colleagues I don't see often are in town and nobody has planned anything but it's a given we'll be out late. Ideally need to find a shop that's still open tonight for a few bits - supermarkets close early on Saturday and open again on Monday here.

OuiWeeOui · 21/05/2022 09:33

Morning @lucysmam , sorting the greenhouse out today
Impressed that you've got shops near you that sell clothes. All ours have shut down and I have to rely on Sainsbury, sad really

Poopootatty · 21/05/2022 09:37

DH is working so it’s just me and DD (4) and DS (8 months).
DS is napping and I’m getting things organised once I put my phone down. Meeting MIL at a local park which is holding a free festival, which may or may not be rubbish.
DH will be back later for dinner. I need to buy a housewarming gift and picnic food for tomorrow so we will pop up to the local high street at some point. A very quiet local day. Tomorrow is busier with seeing friends, picnic and a party.

Morning @lucysmam and all. Love these threads.

Early start in the plants household today as one dc has a competition for their hobby its county wide so exciting! So we are leaving soon. Have hung one load of uniform on the line but the weather's looking bit iffy.

I'm a bit dressed up for today but worried I'll be cold now looking at the weather. Am wearing a summer skirt which was a £1 charity shop bargain but its lovely green with flowers, and a white t-shirt and ballet flats, think I'll pack a thin coat aswell. Have packed a picnic for other dc and plenty of toddler toys!

The competition is about 40 mins away from our village so will eat near there, there's a nice independent Italian which does fab food.

Home for TV and wine.

easyday · 21/05/2022 09:56

If I can tear myself off my phone I need to get the dogs walked before heading out to lunch then going to a student end of year show at an art school my daughter is considering. Then I can see a stack of dishes from last night so boring old housework after that!

Burnt0utMum · 21/05/2022 10:08

Morning everyone! We are at the kids swimming lessons as usual. Then need to pop to the shops for guinea pig supplies and hoping to pick up a new ironing board too. Then home to clean out the guinea pig hutch and carry on removing wallpaper from the bathroom walls. Whoever lived here before us has made it a right job, a few layers of different colour paint, then wallpaper, then more paint. It was peeling in places and looked awful so I just started tearing it down and now have to see it through.

Pascha · 21/05/2022 10:10

On the way to Brands Hatch for the kids and dh to do the inflatable 5k run. No idea about the rest of the day.

NoodletheSchnoodle · 21/05/2022 10:11

I always love these threads and seeing what other people do with their weekends Smile
DS and I are still lounging around in PJs (we do this on Saturday mornings as DH works Saturday mornings until 11.30ish.)

Im about to put a wash load on, get showered & dressed and need to hoover the bedrooms.
We are going for a 3rd viewing on the house we are buying to look at everything in detail, decide if we want to buy some of the furniture they are leaving etc. I'm so excited, I didn't get to look properly at our 2nd viewing as I was showing DS the house as he hadn't been at the first viewing.
Will attempt some batch cooking this afternoon and finish off a Netflix series this eve that I started last night.

Tomorrows plans are a big walk at a country park in the morning, more washing, homework then a roast dinner Smile

Amdone123 · 21/05/2022 10:16

@Plantsandpuddlesuits , good luck in the competition. Your outfit sounds lovely, like something I would wear. Weather is iffy here, too - best pack a jacket !!
Morning @lucysmam , thanks for the thread, I love hearing about what people are doing.
A quiet day for me. My granddaughter will come round after her tennis lesson, then we'll play ( mummies and sisters 🤣, not tennis), and then watch Cameron Norrie in the Lyon final. Excited for that. And that's it. My dh is out on a stag do, so he's under strict instructions to only drink bottled beer !
Have a lovely, everyone.

Amdone123 · 21/05/2022 10:17

A lovely day, even ! Oh, @lucysmam , I've always wanted a pair of customised converse. My birthday soon so I'm off to Google them....😀

Stropalotopus83 · 21/05/2022 10:20

Planning a lazy indulgent day today! DH is working away - he left yesterday and is back Sunday. Eldest DD is visiting her boyfriend in uni this weekend so it's just me and youngest DD (13). Going to have a late breakfast/brunch, she wants to watch some films and then we'll have a Dominos tonight so I don't have to cook! Most excited about having the bed to myself for two glorious nights with no snoring from DH or his extremely irritating leg twitching!

PermanentTemporary · 21/05/2022 10:22

Morning all! A slow start (though unfortunately woke at 530 for no reason) but off to a WEDDING soon. V exciting. Not too far away but slightly thrown at the idea of 12 hours of socialising. We're only friends not family so may collapse home a bit earlier. Toenails just drying, about to get nice frock on.

MinnieMountain · 21/05/2022 10:27

Morning all

I’ve done a clothes wash. Just back from buying a bicycle basket to stick my rucksack in on hot days.

DH is gaming. DS is reading his pile of Beanos.

I’m about to tackle the blasted ivy that’s swamping the garden.

After lunch we’re cycling to a nature reserve to go fossil hunting. It’s part of brick company land and they dump surplus clay for members to dig through. Riverside pub on the way home.

ellieboolou · 21/05/2022 10:34

Up at 8.30, chilled breakfast, got kids up, taking eldest to kumon for her maths lesson much to her disgust, back home for lunch then youngest has a party this afternoon.

Washing, cleaning, dog walk and bike ride with kids late afternoon

Husband to put new blinds up, mown lawn and fix our leaking bath taps

Such excitement!

Natsku · 21/05/2022 10:46

Had a lie in which was needed after several drinks yesterday watching the ice hockey. Now we're off to a family fun day and perhaps to the traffic park (really cute park, set out like roads with road signs and zebra crossings and everything which the children ride pedal carts and bikes around), and then have to do the food shop while inwardly crying over the raised prices and adding everything up on a calculator as I go so I don't go over budget. Shopping is a lot less fun now.

lucysmam · 21/05/2022 11:28

@Plantsandpuddlesuits good luck to your dc in their comp 🍀your outfit does sound lovely.

Weather's a bit iffy looking here too but I have 2 loads on the line & no coat 🤷‍♀️ it'll be fine!

lucysmam · 21/05/2022 11:30

@Natsku I mentally add up my shopping too these days (unless it's an online Tesco), rubbish isn't it 😔

I was up early. Pottered about. Off to see the War of the Worlds interactive musical experience later (no idea what to expect but I love the album). Then train straight to the West Country to visit an old uni friend. I keep checking the weather forecast as I want to travel very light but the weather is just so changeable atm.

Theoldwoman · 21/05/2022 12:04

It's just after 7pm here, watching the Australian Election results roll in!

Kids are in bed watching telly, 1 with the pooch! DH is watching the rugby with the cat. I'm thinking of tidying the pantry.

Simonjt · 21/05/2022 12:11

I’ve got an old rugby friend and his kids coming down to London for the weekend, so we’ll be in tourist mode today and tomorrow. Nothing else planned really as we’ll be quite busy/knackered.

familyissues12345 · 21/05/2022 12:11

Tidying up, washing, catching up on some studying. Usual boring Saturday stuff!

We've got family coming for a bbq tomorrow which I'm looking forward to! So getting the crap out of the way today Grin

AllotmentTime · 21/05/2022 12:22

DH has covid and is isolating so that’s him out of the way all weekend. I feel a little bit like a gaoler 😕

I’ve taken DS to a party and DD is enjoying having the tv all to herself. I’ve got the second wash on and am having a lazy cuppa- after that I need to go clear up the kitchen.

After lunch I will take the DC shoe shopping, they both need sandals, DD needs some party shoes, and DS needs new trainers. I’m thinking I’ll get them measured and buy good sandals they can live in/that I can wash, and then might come home and shop online for the others.

I’m doing a pasta bake later. Need to think of something to watch and keep me entertained once the DC are in bed. Might rewatch the new jumanji films if they’re still on Netflix, I love those.

AllotmentTime · 21/05/2022 12:34

Oo and later I need to go through a load of stuff I’ve bought online and work out what to send back. I think 1/7 bras fit which actually is not a bad stat for buying bras online 🤣🤣

evtheria · 21/05/2022 12:34

Took child to swim lesson, then hurried home to get bank card and hang out the laundry. Now sat next to him in the library (him playing games on the pc, me scrolling MN). We will go buy weekend paper, bread, and chicken after this. Then home where hopefully I can read most of the day away...
