Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I've had a lie in & am just drinking my first cuppa of the day. The washer's on already so it's not as peaceful as usual 🙄

We're nipping into town for a few bits soonish; I need to chivvy dd1 along to get her shower & make sure dd2's actually awake first though. I want a new pair of jeans & some pumps for my feet. I fancy trying my hand at customised Converse too, but think I'll go with Primarni's version!

Later on, it's diy pizzas for tea. We haven't got much in the way of toppings in though so will nip in Sainsbury's in town. Dd2 needs dough and ingredients for food tech this week too.

I'll probably carry on with my peg doll numbers and frog life cycle for work later on. No idea what the girls plan to do - I'll check what homework they have while we're out.

I’ve just finished a charity run carrying a bucket of water for Christian Aid. So I’m feeling very worthy, knackered and a bit damp!

Going out to a restaurant tonight which is a rare treat and I’m looking forward to it.

I am 60 and this is my first weekend alone, ever. And I mean ever.

my DH died suddenly in February, and our 4 DC are all either away for the weekend, or back in their own home and one has not long ago moved abroad.
So far it’s ok, I woke late, ate breakfast outside, did some laundry, and now on here! Will read and then walk the dog later, and maybe pop out to buy some planters for the neglected garden.( that was his domain)

I have to get used to this widowhood malarkey, but it has very little to recommend it.

Painting the house for sale. Sucks that I'm painting it for somebody else.

Well, I should be cleaning...I have got 1 load of washing on and I'm eyeing the ironing basket...(I think that's all I'll do with it today!)

I woke up with a headache so dh and I went for a walk for an hour in a local nature reserve.

Then we popped to the shop for some sourdough bread for ds2.

I've just cut dhs hair and am about to have lunch.

This afternoon I will be reading my new new book.

I have spent the morning doing housework, 4 loads of washing have gone out. Ds1 is outside playing with his friend while ds2 is having his lunch so I am finally sitting down for 10 minutes. I still have a few bits to do and then have to pop to the supermarket. We are having friends over for pizza and board games from 5.

@Wotagain I'm sorry to read about your DH. Hope you indulge yourself this weekend, or discover an exciting club/group.
