What are your favourite penny/pic and mix sweets?

I am shamefully addicted to gummy sweets.

No matter how old I get, I'll never stop loving strawberry laces, foam mushrooms or jelly sharks. Cola bottles(not fizzy) are up there too. I especially love the larger thicker cola bottles that Poundland sell in their pick and mix stand, not to mention their orange bottles and cherries.

What's your favourite?

Cola bottles, jelly cherries, and (recent discovery) watermelon slices. I once had a bag of sweets like cola bottles but all different flavours - yum!

carefullycourageous · 20/05/2022 20:28

Cola bottles or pineapple cubes

carefullycourageous · 20/05/2022 20:28

Must be fizzy cola bottles

I've never had watermelon slices. I'm definitely looking out for those. Also the mixed bottles sound amazing.

Ice cups and flying saucers

Penguinsaregreat · 20/05/2022 20:36

There used to be a sweet called Fizz Bombs. Different colours but the blue one blew your mind it was that sour. They were never the cheapest and once you had sucked all the sour coating off you were left with the solid sweet. They were shaped a bit like a flying saucer I think.

Strawberry pencils and bubblegum fizzy bottles... the taste and sensation of that fizz gets me everytime.

caringcarer · 20/05/2022 20:44

White mice.

Mummadeze · 20/05/2022 20:45

I like those coloured tubes with the white filling. And those big raspberries and blackberries with bobbles on

PipeScatter · 20/05/2022 20:47

My favourites are

"Retro" = hard alphabet sweets

"Current" = haribo fried eggs and hearts.

Others = white chocolate mice, fish and chips, sherbet pips

mushrooms ! Love them also sweet peanuts & chocolate limes.

My memories of my grandad are of him giving us barley sugar - not had 1 of those in a long time.

i also vaguely recall he would also give us a chocolately toffee type with sugar frosting , oval shaped sweet.

Rollerbird · 20/05/2022 20:55

I used to put a barley sugar stick in my mouth and pretend I was a horse with a bit in my mouth. Why?? 🤷‍♂️ 😂

Purplehonesty2 · 20/05/2022 20:56
