Getting into bed early is the best part of the day

Seriously, I absolutely love getting into bed at the end of the day, it's the best feeling ever.

I'm not a particularly depressed or unhappy person, probably no more so than the average person. I just absolutely love getting into my comfy bed.

Anyone else? If I get invited to anything that goes on too late in the evening I think oh no, my lovely comfy bed!

Maybe it's just age, and it's the part of the day my knackered bones and back muscles can finally rest.

Anyone else love their bed more than anywhere else?

I'm with you on this. This is actually late for me! I love heading up about 8/8:30 and being in the comfortable quiet of it all!

KangarooKenny · 13/05/2022 22:02

Me too. The day is done, into my nice chilly sheets, with my dog curled up next to me. A little read before I go to sleep. Perfect.

Cleanbedlinen12 · 13/05/2022 22:03

Yes! Cuddled up with a ton of pillows and duvets a book and a cuppa. Only thing wrong is having to get out of it to nag ds to get his pjs on. Just once, once,m could someone else do it!

Abc986 · 13/05/2022 22:03

Yes! Im sometimes in bed straight after LO (18m) goes down about 7pm, got to get the hours of sleep in before LO is up sevral times in the night and wide awake at 5.30, hes never slept the whole night through and wake up time seems to get earlier and earlier!

Summerholidayorcovidagain · 13/05/2022 22:04

Countdown to 10pm when the ddogs go to bed then we do!!.

EileenGC · 13/05/2022 22:05

I'm in my 20s, I love my bed and that feeling when you finally rest your head against the pillow and all your muscles relax after a long day.

I'm not particularly fond of my own bed specifically, as I travel multiple times a month for work so I'm always sleeping in hotels and airbnbs. But coming home is lovely even though I'll still happily sacrifice evenings for dinners out and seeing friends every now and then. To sum up, no, it's not an age thing. I bloody love going to sleep each night.

Hepzibar · 13/05/2022 22:06

Absolutely with you on this. Favourite part of my day too - that first moment is sublime. I wish I'd come to bed earlier.

flumpadump · 13/05/2022 22:07

Oh yea indeed!!! Also stops the late night eating too which is a mega bonus

Retrievemysanity · 13/05/2022 22:08

I put off going because then the best part of the day is over 😂

winterchills · 13/05/2022 22:12

Absolutely with you on this one, my bed is my happy place. Favourite part of the day!

Kfjsjdbd · 13/05/2022 22:19

100% agree with you. It’s the best.

I also secretly love having a glass of wine and a nytol for the ultimate sleep. But that’s probably taking it too far.

InFiveMins · 13/05/2022 22:22

Absolutely. Love going to bed early and reading and just knowing I can completely relax!

nilpois · 13/05/2022 22:25

Totally agree, early nights are the best....I just wish my kids agreed and would go to bed early too!

Lavender oil on my pillows, a cup of herbal tea and some lovely breathing exercises or storytelling from a sleep app, bliss.

Resilience9to5 · 13/05/2022 22:28

I agree! And Im not depressed either!

LidlCinnamonBun · 13/05/2022 22:32

I LOVE being in bed. I always have done. Now I am in my 40’s it’s socially acceptable. When I was 25 my friends would ask me to trendy bars and I would rather snuggle in a nest of pillows.
I am also not depressed, I am happy!

familyissues12345 · 13/05/2022 22:32

Oh I love an early night! Especially now the children are older, I can go to bed as early as I fancy Grin

Absolutely with you on this one, my bed is my happy place. Favourite part of the day!

DH laughs at me as every night I climb in and say "I love my bed!" Grin

sunshine298 · 13/05/2022 22:34

100% agree, DS goes to bed at 6:30pm then we have dinner and I try to be in bed for 8:30pm 😅 I just need to work on going to sleep earlier

newlabelwriter · 13/05/2022 22:35

Oh me too. Also love waking up early. It’s total win win.

ParquetFloor · 13/05/2022 22:42

Heavenly!

HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 13/05/2022 22:43

The days I'm not working I'm often in bed by around 6pm. Sometimes I am asleep by then but more often than not I just relax with my Kitty and watch tv or look at Facebook or Mumsnet.

FindingMeno · 13/05/2022 22:45

I absolutely can't lie in bed of a morning because I wake up buzzing to start the day.
But I love a good early night with my kindle.

Assistanttotheregionalmanager · 13/05/2022 22:45

Absolutely love that moment I get into bed!

Also hate it when I get into bed and realise I’ve left my book or drink the other side of the room and have to get out again. Its a big inconvenience.

AllLopsided · 13/05/2022 22:46

Yes! I am 55 and DH is 59 and sometimes we sit on the sofa from about 9pm saying 'is it time for bed yet'? We went 'out out' last Saturday and didn't get back till 11. I felt cheated!

I have chronic pain and sitting is agony for me, so I'm really only comfortable in bed... I spend as much time there as possible!

inisfree · 13/05/2022 22:48

I agree! I've taken to officially "retiring" every night. This is when I spend up to a hour pottering around my bedroom before I sink into my comfy bed. Best hour of the day!
