Hey Everyone!

I've been watching the new series - just wondering what your guys opinion is -- husband guilty or not guilty?

It was the owl

Lol

VioletLemon · 15/05/2022 19:44

I agree!! After watching the doc years ago I immediately thought, he was guilty. After that I gradually got groomed by the MP doc team and finally believed the owl theory. Now watching the drama and listening to podcasts he is guilty as fuck! Total narc, pathological liar and hiding in plain sight, had an affair with the neighbour in Germany, clearly is Margarets father, Margarets mother apparently had a wealthy family and so he adopted the children and took control of her estate and brainwashed the kids. They didnt seem to cover the eldest sons MH issues, planting pipe bombs etc?! Why was he SO FCKD UP?!

I’ve only seen the Netflix documentary (when it first came out) and I thought he was really weird but potentially innocent. I know you’ll laugh at me but if you read the whole ‘owl theory’ in depth, it actually begins to sound plausible. Apparently there were tiny feathers in the head wound, etc.

However, I haven’t done any further - or recent - research. I’ll definitely be listening to the podcasts mentioned on this thread as I’d be interested to hear the stuff missed out by the documentary.

We are not laughing at you. It's just the owl theory hasn't come up in the series yet. I still think Kathleen and Caitlin had the misfortune to enter a deeply fucked up family.

DuckDuckNo · 15/05/2022 21:59

She died recently of a heart attack, Peterson was present apparently and Clayton blames him for not calling an ambulance. Make of that what you will! I read that on a similar thread.

Fuckin' hell. 😮

foxlover47 · 15/05/2022 22:19

I've always been told by a policeman friend that , there is no such thing as a coincidence and the most obvious theory , is almost usually the right one
Make of that what you will
I never watched the Netflix one and binged the first 4 on sky TV is evening , it's gripping!
Seeing how he put on her financially I don't think she knew about him being bi , seems she tolerated enough from his kids etc
And I still can't work out how her head was so lacerated like that ... I haven't ever heard the owl theory tho I'm trying to watch the whole lot then will delve into the rabbit hole ( owl hole )

Found this comment on reddit, about Patty's death

"I was immediately suspiscious upon read this. Also, I read she was in perfectly good health, then suddenly fell ill 2 days before dying of what was ruled a heart attack. She was cremated (convient so no more testing can be done on her body) and her son claims his dad took a bunch of her stuff he'd wanted all these years shortly after her death. He also claims dad waited 3 hours to call 911 to help her and that he warned his mom he thinks his dad will kill her before this happened."

foxlover47 · 15/05/2022 22:20

( she did of a heart attack with him present ) .....I don't think I would want him around me In a emergency that's for sure 🙈😳

foxlover47 · 15/05/2022 22:22

@DuckDuckNo hmmm clever as he wouldn't want the risk of the law finding out it wasn't a heart attack ... IF he had anything to do with it

sageandbasil · 16/05/2022 11:13

I listened to a podcast on this years ago.... deff guilty. Has the tv series mentioned the owl theory yet?

FT96 · 16/05/2022 21:53

@sageandbasil - not yet, only 4 episodes released... another 4 to come on a weekly basis. Be interesting to see if they do mention it. I only read up about this theory this week... very interesting but defo not sure I believe that's what happened. After doing a bit of research of the things people sent in on here I defo believe he is guilty too.

An update on my last post as started watching it and take back what I said about Colin as he is very good in this and this is far better than when I watched the other one on Netflix that he had control over. It is showing more stuff about his bisexual flings and am enjoying it so far.

foxlover47 · 19/05/2022 22:09

I suprised myself , I found myself feeling sorry for him in this weeks episode ... no spoilers

Borisblondboufant · 21/05/2022 09:51

DH once fell against a window frame and the woodwork sliced his head open, it was a very clean cut. So I can see where the cuts came from. How she managed to get so many though….

AWOL66 · 21/05/2022 12:17

I heard a theory on Youtube that he hit her head against the lower steps themselves repeatedly. This sounds to me like the most likely scenario. A loss of a large amount of blood from a single gash on the head from a fall I can definitely believe but the splashes all over the skirting board, walls and ceiling seems impossible to me. Also the claim is she fell backwards down the stairs hitting the back of her head on the wall. The injuries and placement of blood are not consistent with a bash from a wall. They had to claim she was coughing up blood all over the skirting board but to me it all seems so unlikely to cause that blood placement. There wasn't much analysis of why you'd even be coughing up blood by the defence either. If it was true I think you'd go to town explaining how a head injury can cause that but surely you'd only cough up blood if you had an injury to your torso like in a car crash? I can't imagine hitting my head on a flat surface then coughing up blood. I loved watching the Youtube body language analysts thanks to who reccommended them!

JudyGemstone · 23/05/2022 07:58

I agree - I couldn’t work out why a head injury would cause someone to cough up blood either, the head does bleed a lot when cut though.

I’ve never been that arsed about Colin Firth as an actor but loving his work in this. Toni Collette is always wonderful, and is that Dane Dehaan as Clayton? They keep referencing ‘spring break’ but not sure what this refers to, some trouble Clayton got in I imagine?

I watched one episode of the Netflix doc but found it dull and couldn’t get into it, this is way better.

I definitely think he’s guilty, but I don’t think he’s guilty beyond all reasonable doubt in a legal sense and this is about the justice system as much as the crime itself.

LizBennet · 23/05/2022 08:10

Clayton Peterson tried to make a homemade bomb at university. I think they're all a little odd tbh.

Mangogogogo · 23/05/2022 09:54

Occam’s razor. Guilty as shit.

hes the same age as my dad and how many women has he found at the bottom of staircases? Zero.
