I read an article shared on this thread, I think. Said “raise” is a good starting word and I have had luck using it.

S and R are common consonants and not only do they help identity they help eliminate too.

I have been using adieu as my starter, since it hits four of the vowels in one go, but it hasn't been kind to me recently. I may get irate instead.

I use arise, abode and piano as starters

I use horse, train, caulk and dingy as first and second words.

I’ve had to name change - I’m so proud today!

I use adieu as my starting word too, but may change it as it's not very helpful for consonants. 4 guesses was ok today, I picked the wrong guess for line 3!

I changed from Adieu as a start word and think I am getting words more quickly now, I usually have 2/3 letters on start or a much clearer idea of where to try next if not

I don't rate Adieu as a starting word. I used to use Stare, changed to Serai and now I pretty much always use Raise which I think is the best one to use!
