Anyone have a 6' bed?

We've currently got a king size so 5'. I thought it seemed big enough but have just come home from holiday where we slept in a huge bed in the hotel and it was fabulous!

I've realised that 5' means each person has 2.5' of sleeping space which is less than a standard single!

Trying to work out if we can fit it in, our bed is quite close to the wardrobes on one side already....

We have a SuperKing, it's like sleeping in two singles, we have our own space but are together.

Plus if you have kids or pets who share your space it makes it so much better!

We have a king size bed and Ive often thought of wanting a bigger one but I absolutely hate changing the sheets and covers, I find it such hard work and the mattress is so heavy to lift up to get the corners under.

Its put me off. Plus trying to find nice bedding for a bigger bed might be a problem, Im very fussy with bed linen

I have a super king bed to myself, it’s awesome. Only thing is bedding is expensive.

Scottishflower65 · 08/05/2022 18:15

Me too with a super king. It’s lovely having all that space. Bedding is slightly more expensive but sale prices are usually very good.

Do you always get 2 separate mattresses with a 6'? Or one huge mattress?

Ooh, my new super king is being delivered this week. We're upgrading from a double, which was a measly 2'3" each.

Bedding is expensive, I haven't found a duvet cover yet, but have a fitted sheet and topper from IKEA, and a sale bargain goose down duvet. Does anyone use a top sheet? Thinking that it might be easier to was two sheets weekly, and the duvet cover every two weeks.

We've got one mattress, one of the new IKEA range.

We have a super

We have a superking size bed, one mattress. Best purchase ever.

dreamkitchenhelp · 08/05/2022 18:30

Superking one mattress, we have started to sleep seperately these days....so I have it all to myself. Beautiful white bedlinen, and don't forget superking pillows bliss....

OldTinHat · 08/05/2022 18:32

I had a super king but am happy with a king now. I still fall out of it though - I sleep alone and seem to roam in the night!

ilovemyelectriccar · 08/05/2022 18:32

We used to have 2 separate mattresses but replaced them with one big one. It was a mistake. It was too heavy when making the bed. Separate mattresses are better.

PennyRoyal · 08/05/2022 18:33

Superking with two duvets - one each!

SophieJo · 08/05/2022 18:35

We have a super king and the space is fantastic!

SzeliSecond · 08/05/2022 18:39

We have a super, our room is tiny but it's only really used for bedtime so it's worth the loss of space. Our bedding is from Asda, it's about £25 new but I got each of ours for £10 in the sale

PineMartenPeanutbutter · 08/05/2022 18:40

Bought a super king after an entire marriage in a Kingsize. It’s a total game changer.

SamanthaVimes · 08/05/2022 18:40

We have a super king. One mattress.

It’s a bit of a pain getting fitted sheets, there’s definitely less choice but there’s no way I would go back now!

Baystard · 08/05/2022 18:41

I often wonder this too. I like the idea of 2 x 3' mattresses but aren't these going to be too short for the bed frame (a super king is longer than a single iirc)?

SpringLobelia · 08/05/2022 18:42

We have a superking. Bought because the cats slept with DH on his side and he wanted more room as he was always being pushed out.

As it happens the cats STILL sleep on DH's side. he is still pushed out but I have even loads more room. It's lovely.

Ccharlotte · 08/05/2022 18:42

Superking with one mattress. My dh is tall and likes to lie on his side...I would never go back to a king size.

SpringLobelia · 08/05/2022 18:43

I buy our bedding from the Range. easily found, not expensive.

Lovelydovey · 08/05/2022 18:45

We’ve got a super king with two single mattresses (zip and link) - love it! Slightly dreading going on holiday though….

bilbodog · 08/05/2022 18:52

We bought a super king last year but still use the king size duvet which works for us! I love white bed linen so easy to find that not too expensive - especially in sales.

FussyLittleFucker · 08/05/2022 18:53

SK size is a game changer! Bedding pretty cheap from Asda, Argos. Not hard to find.

Rinatinabina · 08/05/2022 18:57

Mine is 2m x 2m (not sure what that is) but yes best buy ever, we have one large mattress. Get an emperor duvet. I always go one size larger on duvet, no fights over it at night that way.

HappilyHadesBound · 08/05/2022 19:00

We have (and love) a superking. I wouldn't personally have separate mattresses as we roam all over the place and the join would drive me nuts, but if you stay rigidly to one side then it would certainly make changing it much easier.
