I am actually really sad, I loved him in Minder.

My dad grew up in the same block of flats as Dennis and Robert Powell, they ask used to play football together, he's out for lunch, haven't the heart to tell him

I have very fond memories of watching minder with my dad as a child.

RIP , I have only happy memories of watching the programmes he is in , the pilot episode of New Tricks is a classic .

Oh I am so sorry to hear this. New Tricks got DH and me through lockdown - every night.

My best mate's mum had a massive crush on him when we were growing up. It gave us a lot of laughs. RIP Dennis.

I went right off him when I learned how he abused Rula Lenska - punching and slapping her.

Wasn’t he a domestic abuser? Didn’t Rula Lenska speak out at a time when it was absolutely taboo for victims to say anything?

That's sad. He came to my christening in 1971 as was dating my godmother.

Very unexpected. I was wanting to rewatch New Tricks this week, will have to dig some episodes out.

I didn't know about the DV 😧

For me, as many above it was part of my childhood, watching him in Minder that I loved and the Sweeny that I didn't.

I will think of him the way he left New Tricks, roaring off in a red mustang with a big smile on his face. RIP
