Anyone seen any “how do I juggle my baby whilst touring the country for my job (can’t say what the job is as would be outing)” threads?

Between this and seeing Leighanne discussing the sleep deprivation of BF twins (something I can relate to!), I’m starting to think I might like to be best friends with Little Mix.

Great to see a positive article about mumsnet!! The forums got me through lockdown with my newborn though I’ve only recently joined up to actually post. Invaluable for parents everywhere!

Her wee boys so cute

Threebutterflies · 07/05/2022 12:13

Read the comments though people seem to hate mumsnet ??? Wonder why ?

Hiya Pez!

I hope what Perrie Edwards reads is enjoyable or supportive for her. I wish as much attention was given to women with real musical talent, the many women songwriters who largely get overlooked or have much less time given to them.

Saying she has no musical talent isn’t exactly supportive is it? It’s also totally untrue.

What ARE you talking about? Perrie has a stunning voice. Your problem seems to be with the music industry so why take it out on her?

Perrie Edwards has an amazing voice, all the group have. They've all worked incredibly hard and made sacrifices to get to their level of fame. Now the band members are becoming mothers it's a great opportunity if they can focus and highlight parenting issues that are usually ignored.

Jealous? Bitter?

I watched a clip of Perrie on Tiktok last night. She has a wonderful voice.

Oh for goodness sake, can we not just have one nice thread!! Just one!! Why do people always feel this need to snipe at something! If you've got nothing nice to say just bore off!!

Hi Perrie!! I'm glad you enjoyed the forum.

PollyDarton2 · 07/05/2022 13:43

As PP have pointed out, Perrie has a beautiful singing voice. But I’m often perplexed by people missing the point of girl bands… it’s not just about “musical talent”. Girl bands are entertainment, they put on great performances. If I wanted pure “musical talent”, I’d go and see Adele live. If I wanted a good party atmosphere and to have a good song and dance, I’d probably go and see Little Mix.

And her baby is adorable.

Perrie is one of the few people who have enjoyed success after being on X Factor. Little Mix enjoyed success for a good few years and their songs will be remembered by many in years to come- especially our kids generation.

How nice to see a positive article about Mumsnet. Wonder how many famous readers we have? Smile

LowbrowVictoriana · 07/05/2022 13:53

Hey Perrie, nice to have you on board! 😀

LowbrowVictoriana · 07/05/2022 13:55

@balalake I bet you wish you could sing as well as Perrie!

merryhouse · 07/05/2022 13:57

for some reason there's a lot of people who seem to think that performing isn't a talent.

If you're an actor, then you have to direct. If you're a singer, then you have to write songs. Just presenting someone else's creation is not enough.

(Never mind the fact that some excellent writers can't sing or act)

BobbinHood · 07/05/2022 14:00

She’s got a great singing voice, is a great dancer and they put on a good show. I hate that we criticise performers for not doing everything. She doesn’t have to be a songwriter too.

I’m a good accountant, am I supposed to be a cracking architect too otherwise I’m not worth shit?

Welcome Perrie and congratulations on your wee baby.

Women gathering to discuss issues that aren’t about the washing machine or how amazing men are, REALLY pisses some people off.

GrandRapids · 07/05/2022 14:08

and yes, she does have a brilliant voice.

Agree.
The Little Mix members presumably had to learn to dance after X-factor and are very good at it too.

I am interested in the fact that they are one of the few exceptions to the rule that reality show winners are one hit wonders at best.
