I want something crispy and crunchy and savoury, what do I want?!

Pregnant and hungry. I really want something that has crunch, is crispy and savoury that isn't crisps!

But I don't know what I want.

What do I want?!

You e just taken me straight back to that exact craving when I was pregnant with ds2. If overdone it on the red coke and plain hula hoops (not cheap alternatives, they did not scratch the same itch).

I sent my DH for Pani Puri. He was at the Indian sweet centre twice a week for the next 6 months.

Battered sausage or savoury cake from the chippy.

Pickled food is good too - pickled cornichons with chilli, good quality pickled onions - while not crunchy pickled eggs and pickled chilli's (Santa Maria Red Jalapenos) in 200g jars are the best - are also pretty nice snacks imho.

Bacon sandwich!

CurlyBurley · 02/05/2022 10:47

Ah, just have crisps and done with it.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 02/05/2022 10:56

Hash browns

Pringles 😃

Thin rice crackers in sweet chilli flavour (£1 in tesco)

BertieBotts · 02/05/2022 11:45

Oh I used to live off the thai sweet chilli prawn crackers.

I'm voting for crispy batter bits, and a battered sausage from the chippy.

Dillydollydingdong · 02/05/2022 11:46

Ritz crackers with a dab of cream cheese on. So moreish!

Ratonastick · 02/05/2022 12:02

@JesusInTheCabbageVan Does it work if I just cook the bacon strips in a frying pan with maple syrup and sugar and liquid smoke ?

No idea, but that certainly sounds good!

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 02/05/2022 12:48

Pickled onions, the little silver skin ones.

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 02/05/2022 13:02

Scampi Fries
celery sticks with crunchy peanut butter
tortilla chips with guacamole dip

Slice pita into thing strips, spray with oil and season generously. Bake in the oven until really crisp. Lovely on their own or dipped into dip of choice. (I'm currently favouring a dip made with lighter than light mayo, horseradish and honey, trust me it's good!)

Spring rolls immediately came to mind for me Grin spring rolls in a deep fat fryer. Yum.
