Good morning All! What are your plans for the day?

I'm just finishing my first coffee of the day. I'm sitting in my spot, at the kitchen table, with the window open, listening to the birds & the hum of the freezer. I'll go and get dressed soon but I'm rather enjoying the quiet atm.

My plan for the day is to tackle some washing & shove the hoover round upstairs. It's raining at the mo though & I wanted to wash towels <sigh>

I want to tidy up my Rainbows and Guides things, too, and check I have everything ready for Tuesday evening - if I get to it, I'll prep some resources for later on in term, too, so there's less to do then.

Dd1 has revision to do, and maths homework. Dd2 has almost finished all her homework so when she has she'll probably come & sit with me for a while - I'm hoping she'll start painting the tubes I want to turn into a beanstalk.

There's a pork joint in the slow cooker for tea, we'll probably have it as a roast. And then the girls want to try making ice cream mochi for afters. We found a tiny Asian supermarket in town yesterday & bought all sorts of goodies to cook/experiment with.

Tonight I'll start my new book, I think, rather than mindlessly scroll 🤷‍♀️Although sometimes 'over there' is just tooooo far to reach for it 🤣 Both girls have new books too, so I expect they'll chill with them at some point.

What about all of you? 🙂

Chicken pox has finally hit my 11 year old, so lots of hugs for her and cream applying! A roast, clean the house (ish) and probably flop on sofa watching a movie later. Also have a lovely new book to start.

Hoolahulahoop · 01/05/2022 08:54

Hi Lucysmam. Have a lovely day.
Swimming with DC this morning. I am going to clean my car while they are at their lesson. They have a party then so I will pick up two roast dinners and have them with dh.

I've a garden furniture set to varnish. I've done my pots. List of other jobs too. Bank hol tomorrow so can take it easy.

ChiswickFlo · 01/05/2022 08:56

Morning.
I'm in bed with a cup of mint tea.
I'm hoping dh might take me to town to a bookshop :)
Hoping ds2 joins us.
I'm not in the mood to drive today.
Ds1 will be revising and writing essays.
Must put some washing on...

maddiemookins16mum · 01/05/2022 08:57

Morning, I’m currently doing a spaghetti bolognaise sauce for the slow cooker, (currently frying bacon lardons), then making coffee and chilling before a nice long shower. DD is at a pals house, DH is in bed watching MOTD. I’ll do poached eggs for breakfast in an hour or so then we’re going to get some plants.
lazy day with binge watching telly, spag bol for dinner and nowt much else. I’m working overtime tomorrow (double time yay!) so taking is easy.

maddiemookins16mum · 01/05/2022 08:58

Oh and I need to see if Asda has any Jubilee gnomes left!

rifling · 01/05/2022 09:00

Morning! It's a bank holiday today where I am which is a bit rubbish! Not doing much, just sorting out some window boxes and tidying up. Roast chicken for lunch. Dd12 just made me a pancake for breakfast which was nice!

There's a pork joint in the slow cooker for tea, we'll probably have it as a roast.
I've never tried that. Do you finish it in the oven?

Good morning All! What are your plans for the day?
Bouledeneige · 01/05/2022 09:01

I'm sat in bed watching videos by a psychologist who focuses on narcissists. I've had a banana and yoghurt and will go and get a cup of coffee in a minute.

In a while I'm going to go and collect my friend to go for a longish walk outside London. I will probably be back around 4 or 5pm. I will then tidy up a bit and relax. There's a chance I might catch up with a friend this evening for a cuppa or a drink. I live alone and have been working really hard so my priorities are to unwind, recharge and relax and be a bit sociable.

Conniebanana · 01/05/2022 09:09

Coffee and more coffee, hopefully rain will hold off for a walk with banana dog

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 01/05/2022 09:10

Morning @lucysmam

I've been awake since 7.30 but only just got up had a lovely cup of tea.

Raining here but need to strip the bed and will get that washed and tumble dryer.

Homework for older ones this morning, playing for little ones. I really need to pot up some broad beans I've been saying this for weeks they are still on the boot room windowledge and are starting to flower now rhye are that big they are most definitely ready to go outside! Early lunch and then my parents are coming over.

DH has some WFH to do so we will leave him in peace this afternoon and my parents and I will take the children to the local woods I think hopefully the rain will have stopped if not I'll dig out the waterproofs. Might get coffee and cake from the little cafe on the way aswell.

Really looking forward to dinner, we are having a sort of fake nandos. Marinated chicken in pitta bread and salad, and coleslaw. children will have wedges with theirs. And corn on the cob for everyone.

Happy Sunday all!

vodkaredbullgirl · 01/05/2022 09:12

Finished a night shift, really should be going to bed but on here instead.

Workinghardeveryday · 01/05/2022 09:14

Sat in bed having a cup of tea. Kids still asleep, DP off doing his hobby for the day.

Raining here so will probably just get housework done, wash my hair, take kids to Costa and consider doing a roast for tea. Rock and Roll 😂

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 01/05/2022 09:17

I'm drinking tea in bed. DD is at a sleepover and DH and DS will be asleep for a while. I have sainsburys order coming at 10 and once I've put that away I'm going to go to IKEA for a bigger chest of drawers for our bedroom and maybe some new garden chairs.

Later on I might make spaghetti bolognaise, it takes ages to do it properly so I don't usually bother. I also have a bit of work to do for school - it's the last revision week before SATs for my Y6s.

Angelik · 01/05/2022 09:21

Oh how exciting! Was looking for this thread! Am sitting in wicker chair by open bedroom window with coffee nosing at my quiet suburban street. Lots of birds tweeting and nest building, i imagine

Ds and dd in living room watching telly in their jimmers. I'm about to disturb their reverie for breakfast.

My mum will be over in a bit for general company, to help out (I am 2.5 weeks onto 8 weeks of cast on broken leg - so boring) and she'll undoubtedly potter about - her favourite things are putting on/hanging our washing and she'll iron school uniform! I'm making her sound old - she's only 66!

I think we'll play board games avoiding Risk as Ds (12) gets too emotionally invested

Luredbyapomegranate · 01/05/2022 09:24

A trip to the bluebell woods I hope. They are spectacular this year apparently. And perhaps a teashop trip after.

Gearing up to get up and have a shower, and then will take the dog out. My mission today is to book travel for holidays I booked yesterday.

JoeGoldberg · 01/05/2022 09:24

Morning all, the cockerel started at 6am today and it's still going strong, so that was a very early start for a Sunday! Had my coffee while watching the dogs race round the garden in the drizzle. I've loved the dry spell but the garden looks nicely refreshed from some rain and it smells nice.

On to coffee #2 now, DC still snoring, dogs have been fed and they're all asleep again! Just me and the bloody cockerel now 😂

We have plans for bank holiday tomorrow so today is a chill/get stuff done day. I'm doing roast lamb that we didn't get to have at Easter because of covid, and DD11 wants to make a cake.

Got my washing done yesterday so I've just got a bit of cleaning to do this aft. Hopefully get the dogs out for a decent walk later too.

Reckon it'll mostly be Netflix, pottering, tea, and then a nice soak this evening.

CharSiu · 01/05/2022 09:25

I woke at 7.30 and drank tea in the garden for half an hour listening to the birds, really peaceful. Watched 2 episodes of a box set, cleared up the kitchen and had breakfast with DS who has gone to football.

DS GF is here later, DH will work on the car. Maybe a walk round local woods later and a BBQ.

Chelsea26 · 01/05/2022 09:30

We’re lying in bed with a coffee, having a cuddle. No kids here this morning.

we’ll get up shortly and have bacon, egg and cheese bagels (dirty but delicious!) and then take the dog out for a long walk.

MIL is bringing DSD and DSS around for a roast later so I need to change the bed for her but all other jobs are done.

We’ll probably play cards, listen to music and drink wine this evening!

Perfectlystill · 01/05/2022 09:34

Dog walk. Do my boring physio. Read my book.

DS will do some revision. Other DC and DH away for various reasons so planning a very very chilled one, which I need after the last few weeks.

Might drive to Waitrose and buy a marguerite I saw yesterday if I can be bothered.

Gufo · 01/05/2022 09:36

Homework, laundry and a quick tidy this morning. DD has been swimming and I've done a short youtube workout. Cinema this afternoon as need to get out but the forecast is grim.

Stretchandsnap · 01/05/2022 09:39

Have been out and walked the dog with youngest DD, just drinking my coffee and Mn’ing and then off to pilates in sec. Am planning a walk with my friend later and then over to my brothers house for a roast and a couple of glasses of wine.

Flippydip · 01/05/2022 09:41

I'm just having coffee while DS watches a film. DH has gone back to bed for an hour before we all head out to go swimming.

We really wanted to get the garden done but the weather forecast is crap, so instead I'm going to get through the laundry and get some jobs done around the house. I might suggest to DH that we watch a film or play some boardgames this evening.

SkirridHill · 01/05/2022 09:47

DD and I have both had colds this week so we had tea and biscuits in bed, and I've confirmed there are no chores today. Adjourned to the sofa where we're watching TV under a blanket together, listening to the church bells.

Breathmiller · 01/05/2022 09:48

Morning LucysMam and all.

Did some yoga and put the white school t-shirt wash on.

Been up and taken DS18 into town to catch his bus to a volunteering project he's part of.

Dh has taken DS10 into rugby so I have an hour or so to myself in the house which NEVER happens.

Going to mumsnet while setting the timer every wee while to get up and tidy up.

Meeting them in town at 11.30 to take DS10 swimming.

Then home to think about what we're having for dinner and a quiet afternoon. Was hoping for a walk today but it's dreich! Might drag myself on to the exercise bike for a bit. And maybe a bath and a bit of a pampering session later on.

Happy 1st of May everyone.

DinosaurRenaissance · 01/05/2022 09:58

Morning. Dinosaur house is full of varying degrees of this rotten cough/cold/sore throat thing that's going around so we're doing a whole lot of nothing today. DH has it the worst and has just gone back to bed after my half-hearted attempt at a fry up. Sausages, beans, and Aldi's cheesy hash browns.

Baby DD and I will be hanging out on the living room floor for most of the day I imagine. It's her first cold, and she's snotty, has a slight cough, and is a bit grouchy. I'm alternating between a stuffy and running nose, have the beginnings of a sore throat and cough, and am tired, so will just vegetate. I was meant to be gardening, but 🤷‍♀️ I have Monty still to watch from Friday so I'll be doing that shortly.

gingercat02 · 01/05/2022 10:19

Only up at 9:30 we all had a lie in. Just finished my coffee so shower and breakfast for everyone next.

I was going to garden but it's been raining all night (which is good) so can't get DH to cut the grass. Will probably go to see DM when she gets in from church instead.

Salt and pepper chicken with salad coleslaw and wedges for tea I think.

Going to a wedding tomorrow so need to plan what I'm wearing and do some ironing
