I'm just enjoying my first cuppa, listening to the birds & watching them flit about through my kitchen window.

The washer's on & there are a few pots to do but other than that, the house is mainly clean and tidy. The downstairs floors could do with mopping but that's a job for tomorrow.

We're off into town I think - I was going to nip in on my own, just to find a top to wear to The Killers next month, but dd1 jumped on the suggestion so looks like I have company 🙄🤣 I expect we'll end up with some sort of exotic fruit, from the market.

When we get back, I'd like an hour or so sorting my Rainbows and Guides planning; the space it's kept in is a little messy, there are some activities I'd like to file and keep, and some resources I'd like to create for this week coming.

Later on I'll do a little more of my crochet life cycle & then start on my new book, with a glass of wine.

I have no idea what's for tea yet 🤷‍♀️

What about all of you? And, what's for tea? 🙂

Marking cw, after I finish my next coffee.
Then analysing pupil voice responses.
Then checking data.
Then checking the Romeo and Juliet scheme of work is ready to be taught next week. Tweaking lessons to go with it.

I may not be finished today.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 30/04/2022 10:06

First Saturday I don't have to do anything today. Currently still in bed. DH has taken DD to her swimming lesson. Need to finish decluttering. Meeting friends tonight.

Imissprosecco · 30/04/2022 10:17

I envy all of you with older DC! I can't wait for all that. I've been awake since 2am with the baby and gave up at 6am when I got up with the toddler. I've built a car track and baked cakes with DS2 (there's been a fair amount of telly as well and my living room looks like a bomb has hit it). Waiting for DP to get up after his night shift so I can say "tag you're it" and go back to bed for a bit! Then I think we'll spend the afternoon in the garden before DP goes to work, then it'll be bedtime routine before I have steak and wine in front of Netflix.

Off to watch Reading FC play their final home game of the season.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 30/04/2022 10:21

I'm still in bed 😍

I'm working later though - I'm a dog walker so I have a lunchtime walk booked, and then this evening I have visits for three dogs and a cat, plus a horse to go and feed.

Otherwise I have no plans - I might grab an iced coffee on my way back from my lunchtime walk but that's it otherwise ☺️

SacreBlue · 30/04/2022 10:27

Left adult DS to work & was going to do ‘big’ shop afterwards.

In reality felt so tired & out of sorts I just came home & am snuggled under blanket accompanied by the cat, a mug of tea & MN Blush

I will have to chivvy myself into the shop but just can’t find the energy/motivation this morning.

Hoping a hot lunch will help but for now I’m convincing myself it’ll be better to go later when the discounts start!

<snuggles further under blanket>

TheNonsensePotter · 30/04/2022 10:33

DC are lying in their sleeping bags watching Sword in the Stone. DH is reading, I'm browsing online for fitted bookshelves. Need to make myself a coffee but I'm too comfy on the sofa.
Might go out and buy some scones later as we have new jam and clotted cream in the fridge with nothing to go with them!
We have wildflower seeds to plant in the garden this afternoon. But nothing else planned for today.

seething1234 · 30/04/2022 10:36

In swimming lessons with children, rush to get here and had to stop into shop on way in to buy party bags and treats for a birthday party tomorrow.

Then I have to drop ds off to party today, drop another ds at a friends house.

I then have to travel to a different town to pick up a cake topper. Get back in time for my tesco delivery at 1pm. Put away shopping, make a birthday cake, do up the party bags, clean my house top to bottom, feed my other children, catch up with laundry, pick up the kids and make dinner. I'm tired writing this...

Minimalme · 30/04/2022 10:46

Oooh, thanks for asking op!!

I'm wearing my (2nd hand off eBay) L F Markey denim jumpsuit today and feel awesome.

Respite carer coming so me and rest of family are off to look round charity shops for fabric for the quilt I'm making, then it crocheting baskets for the new babies in my life. Not to put the babies in, just to clarify Shock

Minimalme · 30/04/2022 10:48

Also, I bought a telly after 8 months without one so I'll be watching all sorts of mindless shit. Bliss.

ChiswickFlo · 30/04/2022 10:49

Cleaning and washing! :(

Dh had either a bug or food poisoning mid week so I've had more washing than usual and now it's reached epic proportions :(

It's a lovely day though so windows and doors are all wide open and I'm now sat listening to the birdsong.

He's gone to the shops, ds1 is doing revision for his university exams and ds2 is being 13 and staying in his room :)

I might start my new book later...

gottaloveascamhun · 30/04/2022 10:53

Just hung out the washing, it's lovely and sunny here so we'll walk up to the woods later. I need to clean the house as in laws are coming tomorrow. Will get on with that once I've finished my cuppa. Gym this evening 💪

It's hard work at the time, but don't wish it away! You'll look back with longing for the days the kids were wee. TRY to enjoy it!! 💐

LoveSpringDaffs · 30/04/2022 11:09

@lucysmam I love your Saturday morning threads!! Hope you have a lovely weekend x

gingercat02 · 30/04/2022 11:12

Currently having my hair cut. One load of washing out on the line and another in the machine. Glorious day here so out in the garden for the afternoon I expect

I disagree. I love Saturday mornings now the kids are older. I do not look back with fondness to the days when they were younger. Getting up at 6 every day for work and THEN at the weekend was awful.

I'm with you DS is nearly 14 and I absolutely wouldn't go back to baby/toddler days

lightand · 30/04/2022 11:43

Housework.
Got people coming next weekend.

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 30/04/2022 11:55

So far I have sorted out the greenhouse, moved some pots of plants around, refilled the compost bin, hung out the washing and sown carrots and salad leaves (must look for beetroot seeds).
DH walked DDog, who’s now snoozing at my feet. Crab salad and french bread for lunch with new potatoes I think then an afternoon of sitting in the sun with my crocheting and a audiobook. Perhaps a glass of wine might slip nicely?

ChiswickFlo · 30/04/2022 12:01

Washing line up...just need the damn machine cycle to finish

I need to sort out my garden box with new plants...May visit the nursery tomorrow..

I may go and sit in the garden for a while

weekendcookie · 30/04/2022 12:06

I'm still in my pajamas. I am shattered and feel like I'm wasting a sunny day. Please tell me I not the only one Grin

Simonjt · 30/04/2022 12:08

Morning everyone, its lovely and sunny here in London today.

We want to get out A58 form filled out and in the post by Monday, so we’re starting that today, we’ve printed six as we’re bound to cock up multiple times.

No rugby tots this morning and no rugby training for me, so I went to the gym instead. My husbands doing his very outing hobby, cycling of course.

We’re going to a friends this afternoon, they have a garden so they’re doing a bbq and they’ve got a few things for the kids to do.

We’re going to see about finishinf heartstopper tonight, we were going to watch it last night but we were too tired.

I hope everyone has a nice Saturday.

AlisonDonut · 30/04/2022 12:11

We had coffee and a toastie, drove out to a new plant nursery and spent 52€ on plants, and have just had lunch in a little local town square. Soon off home to position the plants prior to planting out this evening. It is gorgeous again here today.

ssd · 30/04/2022 12:14

Im working. The shop is busy and we are so short staffed. Trying to not let it piss me off too much. Dh at home, enjoying the peace and the remote control to himself i can imagine.
Happy weekend everyone and @lucysmam

Kim82 · 30/04/2022 12:24

I’ve been up since 6.50am (stupid body clock) so have done 3 loads of washing which are all hung on the line, I’ve put away the food shop that was delivered earlier and downstairs is clean and tidy.

I’m now waiting for my sister to pick me up for our bridesmaid dress fitting then home to relax. Spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread for tea then my aforementioned sister is coming round to drink wine and we can write our speech for our other sister’s wedding next month.

Dh is hungover (ha, serves him right), Dd aged 7 is playing in the garden with her friend from next door but one, Dd aged 17 is sprawled on the sofa with her iPad and dd aged 14 has just this minute woken up. I’ve no idea what their plans are but dh will be watching the 7 yo and my 9 yo niece while my sister and I are out at the dress shop.
