I've been up an hour or so, just enjoying the peace & no need to be anywhere today. It looks lovely, but a bit breezy outside 🌞 I think my peace is about to be broken though, I can hear dd2 moving about upstairs.

Today I need to wash my work trousers, nip to Asda, iron school shirts, and make some sort of a dint in my rather long "to do" list. It's sort of in priority order so I'll start at the top & work down. Most of it shouldn't take me long, I don't think 🤔 Oh, there are pots to wash too...always bloody pots to wash 🙄

Dd2 has homework so will probably come and sit at the table, with me, to do it. I'm not sure about dd1 - I'll have to ask when she gets up!

I also want to finish my props for our class story so need my sewing machine out for an hour or so - I'll get the girls' dad to bring it down for me though, it's bloomin' heavy!

We're having some variety of chicken pie for tea, with mash and veg 😋 There will more than likely be a glass of wine for me, to go alongside it!

What about all of you? 😊

Good morning!

I’ve been for a swim at the lido. It’s glorious at 7am. Now having breakfast. DS is having his and playing. We’ll go for a swim together after that.DH has gone out for a bike ride.

MIL is coming over for our first BBQ of the year later. We’re having lamb kebabs.

I've got to replace the break pads on my bike. DS has homework.

MrsDThomas · 24/04/2022 08:54

Im off for a 10k run, quick lunch then off to superdrug for some new make up. Then watch DD play football. Then a quick tea and a walk before dusk,

blibblibs · 24/04/2022 08:57

Been awake for ages and waiting not very patiently for the supermarket to open.
I hate hate hate Sunday opening times!

Iamblossom · 24/04/2022 08:57

Dh hungover from watching the boxing with his brother so he won't be up to much today.

I'm about to do yoga and weights and then I will walk the dogs. Not much else, laundry, TV, reading. Nice! Might pop over and see my dad.

Ds1 at work in a local hotel and Ds2 will need to do some revision when he gets up.

DH making pulled pork in flat breads with coleslaw and corn on the cob for tea.

maddiemookins16mum · 24/04/2022 08:58

Morning, I’m about to pop out and get some petrol and some eggs. I shall then do American style pancakes/crispy bacon and maple syrup for breakfast. DH is doing the ironing in front of MOTD and is then doing ‘stuff’ in the garden. Lamb chops for Sunday dinner and tonight we’re going to see Craig Revell Horwood in his one man show in Folkestone. Most unusual for us on a ‘school night’ but really looking forward to it. I also need to do some housework and get ready for the working week.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 24/04/2022 08:59

Sitting by the pool am (in Spain) flying home pm (waaaaah)

Pegasussnail · 24/04/2022 09:00

Swimming this morning. Then come home and sort the uniforms. I've to collect something in Asda which is a 40 minute
drive (I could leave it for a few days).

Steak and baby potatoes (onions and sweet peppers) for dinner.

Gentleman Jack and home renovation series tonight in TV.

boatyardblues · 24/04/2022 09:02

I am having a rare lie-in with our cat. My day will involve a mountain of ironing listening to podcasts, telly, cooking, possibly some light gardening and a swim later. Plus some time-wasting on MN of course. 😄

Onceuponatimethen · 24/04/2022 09:03

Lying in bed with horrible cold watching Motherland. Also have massive to do list but none of that is going to happen today!

Ragwort · 24/04/2022 09:05

Minne what lido? It is my dream to live somewhere near a lido ... do have one about 20 minute drive from me but not open yet.

I have just cooked myself a rather nice breakfast, then I will wash the kitchen floor and go to Church, meet my DM afterwards and go to a garden centre for a mooch and a coffee (garden centres are such good places to take an elderly parent Grin), home to a roast pork dinner with DH (currently out at golf) ... quiet evening in like every other evening. But generally a peaceful, relaxed sort of day - gearing up to having to do some online work training from home tomorrow which will be a challenge for me.

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 24/04/2022 09:06

I'm delighted this morning after discovering that after an hour of sulking about it being Monday morning and stressing about work it is in fact Sunday!!

DH heading off to work shortly and I don't expect to see the teens before lunchtime!

I have a new coffee machine and had a new book delivered yesterday so that's me sorted for the morning! Might watch a film or something with DD2 when she emerges from her pit.

I've also got some apples that need using up before they start to go soft so thinking about making some sort of low carb cobbler type thing with almond flour.

ChangedToday · 24/04/2022 09:08

I've been up for hours but taking it easy. Had a busy day yesterday: built & installed new shelves, did washing, went for a run; so today is a bit lighter. Need to move some more books into the shelves, iron some of the washing. Deal with the returns for two clothes orders for DD (who hates shopping). Will do some cooking for the week ahead and I'm sure we'll manage a walk in the sunshine too. Oh and I must water some of my plants in the garden.

Thislittlekitten · 24/04/2022 09:10

Morning

So far having a very lazy morning. Rare Sunday off for me! . About to make breakfast.
Kids have a party today and homework. I will catch up on laundry and hopefully a lazy evening!

CharSiu · 24/04/2022 09:11

Taking a picnic and visiting somewhere to see Bluebells, just trying to decide. Know two nice place both within about 7 miles.

Bit of gardening when I get home, DH will be finishing a car repair. DS and his GF are here so will have dinner with then later.

Breathmiller · 24/04/2022 09:12

Morning LucysMam love your gentle weekend threads.

I have no plans today which feels lovely but I will be bored by 10am so I'll find something to do.

First day off and had a long busy week so I am relishing not having to be up and about. Youngest brought me a coffee in bed and dh is taking him to rugby soon then he's away to a friend's house this afternoon so can't go afar.

Sun is shining so hoping for a walk later when he's at his friend's after some yoga this morning, might spend a bit longer today. Have to think about what I'm doing for dinner. Maybe batch cook some soup for the week's lunches. Will nip into work to sort the premises out for the people in tomorrow.

Got tomorrow off too so it feels a real treat to have 2 days off in a row.

Pascha · 24/04/2022 09:14

Stripped the bed, realised I had forgotten to set the timer on the washing machine to finish early morning so now I have a queue of laundry Hmm.

Ds1 has scout parade for St George's day. He's not keen so we've promised to go for brunch somewhere afterwards.

Ds2 has football at 10 so dh will take him. To that.

There's some local autograss racing this afternoon so they can all go to that while I cook dinner for later.

DolphinaPD · 24/04/2022 09:17

Sunday is my day off. All the housework is done, there's leftovers so no cooking required today and I think we are going to the beach.

cigarettesNalcohol · 24/04/2022 09:18

Woke up 7.30 and joined DH and DD1 downstairs for breakfast. Then got baby up and watched her play for a bit. Bit of gardening this morning. DH and DD1 washing the car. Next shower/get ready, more gardening/everyone pottering around then small snack before we all head over to a friend's for our first bbq of the year later this afternoon. F1 in the background of course 🏎

AledsiPad · 24/04/2022 09:22

Morning lucysmam!

Currently drinking my second cuppa in bed, about to jump in the shower and get dressed. DH made bacon sandwiches earlier 😋

I’m off to Pilates this morning, DH is taking DC3&4 to the cinema to see Bad Guys, then we’re going to get some lunch together before DD has a swimming certificate presentation.

Then it’ll be home to make roast chicken, whilst DH irons and DC do homework. I’ll help DD with hers in between cooking. Then it’ll be baths/showers before bed ready for school/work/uni tomorrow.

I’m looking forward to it all 🙂

Smallorangecat · 24/04/2022 09:29

It is DC1’s birthday party this afternoon. Before that I need to tidy up and work out where to put her birthday presents. Then I need to sort out ready for DC going back to school tomorrow. DC2 has to go dressed as something red! DC1 can wear non-uniform because it was her birthday, but I should really iron shirts etc for the rest of the week rather than put it off for another day.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 24/04/2022 09:32

Morning @lucysmam and all! Everyone's days sound lovely so far and some lovely sounding dinners.

I've been up early, beautiful sunny day here but very windy. Just about to put uniforms on the line.

teens are doing their own thing today with friends, when they get up lol cinema and nandos was mentioned and we will collect them later on.

I'm just waiting for online shop to arrive, will make brunch after that making fake mcmuffins (I'm on slimming world and this is a fab option).

Garden afternoon for DH myself and the little ones I think. Got lots of seedlings that need transferring from inside to outside and the greenhouse needs a tidy as always, I've bought a greenhouse chair yesterday so want to get that set up so can enjoy pottering in there a bit more.

Haven't decided on dinner yet either lasagne or sausage and mash (both SW versions)

Looking forward to a bath this evening with my book and an early night

AnyCakeButBattenburg · 24/04/2022 09:35

The cat woke me at 5.30! Fed him, put the washer on, and went back to bed until 8. Had the washer on again, pegged it all out. Had breakfast, now going to hoover up. Later, a walk round the park to feed the ducks and geese, then dinner at 5, which will be roast chicken and all the trimmings.

Purplepalm192 · 24/04/2022 09:36

Took the dog for a walk along the beach this morning, a beautiful day. Now getting ready to head to a national trust property with a picnic! No idea what we will have for dinner, possibly sausages.

Oizys · 24/04/2022 09:43

Up early with our 2 year old and very much wanting to go back to bed 😴

need to tidy the house and get the washing on soon so thinking about telling DH to take the kids out for the day so I can do that in peace (and get a sneaky nap in as well)

DH is an F1 addict so the race will feature in our afternoon somewhere

slow roasted chicken for dinner tonight! Always a fave meal in this house. Then either an early night or I can finish selling sunset s5

Waxonwaxoff0 · 24/04/2022 09:45

Having a lazy morning. Just having coffee and breakfast. Will change the beds soon and have a shower, then go out with 8yo DS for a cheap and cheerful lunch at a local café before his hobby at 2pm.
