I've been up an hour or so, just enjoying the peace & no need to be anywhere today. It looks lovely, but a bit breezy outside 🌞 I think my peace is about to be broken though, I can hear dd2 moving about upstairs.

Today I need to wash my work trousers, nip to Asda, iron school shirts, and make some sort of a dint in my rather long "to do" list. It's sort of in priority order so I'll start at the top & work down. Most of it shouldn't take me long, I don't think 🤔 Oh, there are pots to wash too...always bloody pots to wash 🙄

Dd2 has homework so will probably come and sit at the table, with me, to do it. I'm not sure about dd1 - I'll have to ask when she gets up!

I also want to finish my props for our class story so need my sewing machine out for an hour or so - I'll get the girls' dad to bring it down for me though, it's bloomin' heavy!

We're having some variety of chicken pie for tea, with mash and veg 😋 There will more than likely be a glass of wine for me, to go alongside it!

What about all of you? 😊

Up early with our 2 year old and very much wanting to go back to bed 😴

need to tidy the house and get the washing on soon so thinking about telling DH to take the kids out for the day so I can do that in peace (and get a sneaky nap in as well)

DH is an F1 addict so the race will feature in our afternoon somewhere

slow roasted chicken for dinner tonight! Always a fave meal in this house. Then either an early night or I can finish selling sunset s5

We love roast chicken in a slow cooker too! You get so much more meat off it than in the oven. Chicken fried rice the next day is a hit with my children aswell!

Going to a shitty toddlers bday party at a shitty soft play where I’m not allowed to bring my own v.young family “due to space/numbers” so I’ll be leaving but I’m welcome to help try control the shitty toddler rather than be with my own fam! I won’t be staying long 😂

I love these threads ☺️ my DS (12 months) was up at 6 am at usual BUT he is currently taking a rare long, morning nap - he's been asleep again since 8 am so I went back to bed! He's just waking up again now as I'm typing this. I think I'll pop out to IKEA with him for a mooch around today.

Pascha your post bought back memories ... I was in Scouting as a Leader for years and attended many St George's Day services ... I rather now wish I had planned to go to one today .

champagneplanet · 24/04/2022 09:54

Sun shining here, seems less breezy today. Here is my to do list:

Cuppa in peace Smile
Put a wash on
Collect parcel from Matalan
Plant the bulbs I bought yesterday
Iron DCs uniform
Clean the bathroom
Make Meatballs for dinner
DCs homework

It would be such a shame if you picked up a vomiting bug from your young family wouldn't it... Wink

Just back from early Mass which is always nice. Such a beautiful day! I’ll go out into the garden in a minute to water the new trees, then I’ve got some leftover work to finish at least if the weather holds, I can take my laptop into the garden so won’t complain.
I never realise how hard I find winter is until the days get longer in spring!

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

As much as I like a lie-in, I like a few peaceful hours by myself in the morning more, so I was up at 5.30 (via the feline alarm clock) and enjoyed a nice slow cup of tea in the breaking dawn while reading through the guide books for the historic places we visited during the holidays. There’s never enough time to read all the interpretation boards with kids, is there?

This morning I have been mostly preparing uniform, sorting all the old uniform to donate (why do I hang on to it for so long?) and installing a new storage system to finally contain the overflowing art supplies and toys.

This afternoon I’ll be planting out some seedlings that are itching to spread their roots, making a rhubarb crumble and cooking a roast dinner whilst kids finish a Lego project with DH.

DinosaurRenaissance · 24/04/2022 11:13

Morning all. We've just had a fry up brunch and don't have much planned between that and roast chicken dinner later apart from the F1, and maybe a little gardening.

I took a wool wash out of the machine last night and completely forgot to hang it up on the clothes airer, so it went out on the line this morning at about 7:30 and I felt oddly virtuous for having laundry out there so early, even though it was entirely down to my laxity last night!

Simonjt · 24/04/2022 11:59

Woke up to the noise of the cat being sick, nothing gets you out of bed faster. We’ve been swimming this morning, its usually quite busy but it was really quiet this morning which was nice as we didn’t have to dodge any splashy kids.

Rugby social later to celebrate the end of the season, I’ve been told if I’m not fit for our anniversary lunch tomorrow I’ll be in trouble, so I’ve scheduled a telling off for 12pm tomorrow 😂

Crunchymum · 24/04/2022 12:17

Had a manic day yesterday do today will be a lot more low key. Need to do all the boring stuff - homework, baths, ironing etc. It looks like another glorious day so we'll definitely head out for a scoot / birthday ride and maybe an ice-cream in the park later on.

Not sure about dinner, want to do something easy so may defrost a bolognese? Then I can just knock up at a salad and bung some fresh pasta on. Will take 10 minutes!!

Probably a film later, need to find something a 9,7 and 4yo will agree on Confused

Crunchymum · 24/04/2022 12:18

Auto correct went a bit mad. Not sure how bike ride became birthday ride?

lucysmam · 24/04/2022 14:43

Well, everything's done, apart from tackling my to-do's. I'll have a couple of hours tomorrow after work at it 🙄

I'm considering an early ish tea now then getting settled with my crochet project.

I have ground to a halt 🙄
I was up at 7, took DDog for a very slow amble because she was spayed on Thursday and mustn’t do more than 5-10 minutes walk twice a day (she’s raring to go, is used to an hour in the morning and up to 3 hours in the afternoon) but must obey rules.
Then I sorted out my summer clothes, put away winter stuff (that’ll make it snow!), 3 bags of stuff for the charity shop.
Two loads of washing on the line, it was very breezy earlier but it’s calmed down now.
Took DDog out into the garden, removed her baby grow, gave her a good brush and ‘redressed’ her.
Cooked lunch and cleared up and have cleaned through the house while DH hoovered.
Now I am knackered!
@TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo what book are you reading? I need inspiration for a good read, any suggestions?
I fancy a glass of wine and some nibbles I think now then crack on with my crochet blanket.
Hope you all have a lovely evening.

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 24/04/2022 15:56

@YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp so last weekend I read Shelter by Harlen Coben. Love his books. Got the end and it was a right cliffhanger and I realised it was the first in a series so I am now steadily working my way through them.

Chocolatier9 · 24/04/2022 16:08

Woke up to the noise of the cat being sick, nothing gets you out of bed faster.

Indeed. I wish someone would make an alarm with this sound.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 24/04/2022 16:25

I've also ground to a halt, suddenly got shattered!

Also debating doing an early tea.

Currently in bed reading with a cup of tea, bliss!

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 24/04/2022 17:08

Gosh, I’d forgotten Harlen Coben, I have a couple of his books I think, that I haven’t read. Thank you, will look up what sequence to read them 🙏

CircesLion · 24/04/2022 17:42

@YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp You’ve done loads, hope you’ve had a nice rest!

I really need to face the fact that I’m not going to fit into the huge amount of clothes rammed in my wardrobe and loft, and just get rid of them but I find it so exhausting and depressing! It would be lovely to have that space for actual wearable clothes though and not just wear what’s going round in the laundry, so I may tackle that (with wine) next weekend.
