The hands being hidden underneath the grapes makes it look as if they’re up to something “forbidden” (the logic being, otherwise why cover them up)?

I mean, yes the reverse shows that their hands are on their knees but if you wear this out and about, nobody is going to be seeing the reverse so ...

Also — I appreciate this is subjective but to me they don’t really look like babies or children, they look like creepy little men.

I don't like being mean, but I think it's passable as an ornamental oddity in your home, but it looks weird AF as a brooch and you'll probably get a few strange glances when you wear it and people wonder if you're part of a niche spiritual organisation.
