We have a ginger tabby who (as all cats do) has a million names, many of which bear no resemblance to his given name, but one of my children suggested at the weekend that we really should have called him Fishfinger because he is the exact colour of Birdseye fishfingers. Not sure what you would shorten that too, though...

His Royal Highness Prince Fish of Finger, Captain of Birdseye, Lord Admiral of the Feet and Defender of the Fridge.

We went on holiday and the place we stayed had a ginger kitten who attached himself to us. I can’t remember what the owners called him but we called him Satsuma.
