Does anyone know what the pH value is of petit filous

I know petit filous is supposed to be a cheese. Would petit filous have the same ph value of some cheeses? Often a piece of cheese is good for after meals for bringing the pH value up in the mouth and that is supposed to slow down dental decay? Anybody know if petit filous has the same ph value as cheese? I googled but the answer never came up for me.
I know the only way of finding out is to experiment with some PH testing strips and I will probably put some testing strips on a list of things to buy some day.

Petit filou is full of sugar so I can't think it would help prevent tooth decay.

SmellyOldOwls · 17/04/2022 22:33

If this is for a child, and you're worried their teeth have started to decay, you can take them to the dentist for a check up and some of that fluoride paint stuff if they need it. Probably works better than petit filous.

Haus1234 · 17/04/2022 22:37

The sugar is not going to help prevent tooth decay, you want normal cheese with no sugar.

It has added sugar/sweeteners like flavoured yoghurt, not as neutral as regular cheese.

Would fromage frais be similar to cream cheese? I don’t know…

Petit foods is full of sugar.

Soresoresore · 17/04/2022 22:45

‘Filous’

Ducksurprise · 17/04/2022 22:47

I like petit filous. I had forgotten. I want some.

I have never tested the pH...but would assume it was acidic! I'm tempted to test it now.. usually tart tasting food is acidic. That's the root of the word acid. Sharp.. like acute angle...sharp.

It is a type of cream cheese so I guess this is helpful - see pic.

I am invested now and want to know the results of the experiment! Get those strips, OP! It's a tricky one as they are quite chalky so you would think alkaline, but then the fruit aspect 🤔

Soresoresore · 17/04/2022 22:57

Batshit to think petit filous will slow down tooth decay but not batshit to wonder if fromage frais is acidic or not. It’s food science.

soupmaker · 17/04/2022 22:58

Batshit with bells on.

StopThe · 17/04/2022 22:59

Whaaat?

GettinPiggyWithIt · 17/04/2022 22:59

Wtf

It is full of SUGAR

shabbalabba · 17/04/2022 23:01

You could email them and ask @SummersBreeze they will know that information from their lab most probably.

AdaColeman · 17/04/2022 23:02

Plain unsweetened traditionally made Greek yogurt probably has a higher pH value than sweetened petit filous.

NeverChange · 17/04/2022 23:02

Oh dear! How unfortunate to you run out of litmus strips at a time like this! So dreadfully difficult to find over the holidays.

My precious angels only get food that scores a neutral 7, can't have them being unbalanced whatsoever! I feel your pain.

ZeroCaffeine · 18/04/2022 00:22

are you serious?! 🤦🏾‍♀️

As others have said surely the sugar would outweigh the PH?

SmellyOldOwls · 18/04/2022 08:45

How do you figure that?
Horcruxe · 18/04/2022 08:47

I would assume its alkali, but once the sugar hits the teeth the bacteria would react with the sugars to produce acid.

It's not going to help improve the condition of anyones teeth

GoodVibesHere · 18/04/2022 08:52

Hmm the pH of petit filous. A very good question OP, I've been thinking about this myself a lot recently.
