Happy Easter Mumsnet! What are your plans for the day?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, & enjoying the cool breeze that's coming through the kitchen window, and the birdsong. It looks like it'll be another beautiful day 🌞 I'm doing hot cross buns for breakfast shortly 😋

I don't think we're doing much today, apart from eating chocolate, and cooking a roast later on.

I might get out in the garden again for an hour, or I might defrost the chest freezer, or I might finish off my Rainbows and Guides prep for Tuesday evening - there's not much to do so that won't take long.

Later on, I'll order myself the second book in the Discovery of Witches series & either settle down for a few hours crocheting or with a new book and a .

Oh, I almost forgot! I have a few of those fillable eggs to hide & clues for the girls to find them so I'll do that secretly later on. I'm quite good at doing things without them noticing so don't think they'll see me 🤣

All in all, a moochy, relaxing kind of day. What about all of you? :)

DH started work at 5am, so I did an egg hunt for the kids and they have had more than enough chocolate already
I’m about to do my nails and let the kids out in the garden for a little bit.
This afternoon, we are heading to familys for a huge get together, bouncy castle etc.
We have family from America visiting and it is going to be a fab afternoon!

We've got my daughter and baby grandson coming down foelr lunch. Hopefully get out for a walk too at some point. Quite relaxed day though. Bit overcast here again but hoping it brightens up later.

Staying with family so will be church, roast, egg hunt.

I'm currently breastfeeding DS and browsing MN. DD slept out last night and will be home around 11 so I need to organise the egg hunt before then.
We have family coming round for a roast dinner (lamb) and to join in the hunt. Hopefully it stays sunny so the kids can play in the garden.

Happy Easter! We have done our Easter egg hunt and eaten hot cross buns. Taking DS(6) on a steam railway later then having roast beef.

I've been up for a couple of hours already I always like to wake early on Easter day (we are Christians)

Lamb has just gone in the slow cooker ready for dinner

I've just been outside to hide the eggs hang the washing out.

Egg hunt this morning followed by a short family church service we will be home before 12 then early lunch.

Got a few Easter games to play eg guess how many eggs in the jar, pin the tail on the bunny etc.

Hoping for a walk in the woods after lunch then we are having a roast dinner at dinnertime.

Also have to make Easter brownies at some point!

Off to bed, night shift last night. Had some of my Easter egg, for breakfast. My 2 are adults so not sure what they doing.

The Easter bunny left a note (that rhymes) saying to look for eggs at noon (so we could have a lie in) it's worked
But getting up now .. 9 is a decent lie in. Raining like crazy here.

Will do a nice dinner either pork or perhaps steak. Then eat eggs. Going to do the National Trust hunt tomorrow. So chill today. We were up to our eyes in DIY yesterday

I think I'll do a wardrobe sort out later and bag up my winter coats and jumpers.

A roast dinner later, Dd has college work and I want to clear out the pan cupboard. Dh I think is off to watch the local cricket match as it's lovely and sunny. Ds will play out or go with him.

Happy Easter. We're recovering from ds's birthday yesterday - none of the children we invited came (all family members) so we have a bag of Easter eggs staring at us - may have to drop them round various houses lest we be tempted to scoff them. Also got a pile of cake and crisps that need eating. Boys have done an egg hunt in the garden now watching Sonic. I'd happily go back to bed.

I have walked DDog, just having a coffee before I prep the roast for lunch then a bit of gardening I think.
I fully intend to sit out in the sun with my crocheting and a 🍷 later.

In the garden in peace with a coffee. DC watching Netflix- dragon riders and eating chocolate. Relaxed day, bit of a walk, and roast dinner oh and egg hunt in garden. Tomorrow off to national trust place for the day. Happy Easter!

It's a really lovely day here.
The kids have already been out in the garden for an egg hunt, have destroyed half their egg stash and are doing their sticker books from the Easter bunny.
I'm contemplating what to do for breakfast (they've already eaten theirs) and then I need to get ready for work.
I think DH will bring the kids up to work to do an Easter trail we're running and will pick me up when I finish at 5 and then we're home for an easy dinner. We did a roast yesterday when I was off so it'll be something simple tonight.
I'm just hoping to survive work as it's going to be chaos!

Happy Easter. I'd normally start work early on a Sunday, but today I have the day off and didn't wake up until about 8.30am. It's just us to today. We usually get eachother an Easter Egg and hide them in the house or garden. We'll have hot cross buns with our morning coffee. DH wants to go to get some seeds planted and lawn mown. This afternoon we're going to sit out in the garden with a drink, then roast potatoes and salmon.

Still in bed with DH but about to get dressed & toast some Hot X Buns for brekkie. I have an Aldi egg ( milk & dark chocolate with a crunchy almond coating) & some mini eggs. DD13 had money instead but will probably have some of my mini eggs. DH had a bar of fruit & nut. Not doing a roast. DH is making Italian roast chicken for tea. I need to pick up some salad bits to go with it. I don’t think we’re going out today but if it stays sunny, I may sit in the garden & read a book. Can’t remember the last time I did that.

Morning! Kids decided (for the first time ever) that Easter is like Christmas and you get to wake up super early. So I'll be ready for a nap soon!

Then cleaning before the in laws come round.

Sunny weather hasnt made it to Scotland so still huddled in bed. DH working, DS has Covid. DD1 has toothache. Will go and visit my mother for lunch later but to be honest just not feeling enthused this year at all.

Happy Easter! We were supposed to be having family over today but everyone is poorly (them and us) so that's not happening now. Disappointing but at least they'd dropped the kids eggs off last week

So the new plans are.. Easter egg hunt in the garden because it's a lovely spring day. Then a full English. Notice no ones appetite has been affected by aforementioned lurgy. Then more time in the garden, kids will do whatever, and I'll make the roast beef dinner I was supposed to be making for the whole tribe. Plus chocolate. Obviously. After the eggs have been in the freezer for a bit to make them all crisp and yummy.

As a kid we always watched a film on Easter Sunday afternoon whilst eating our eggs. Anyone remember it was one of the few times of year when they put things like Star Wars or Indiana Jones on the telly? I might bring that tradition back.

Still in bed - joys of having teens! I wasn’t going to do Easter egg hunt but the 13 & 16yo insisted lol so will set that up soon. Got family coming over so making a roast later. Otherwise just a lazy day.

I’m covid + and feeling like shit.
Washer is on, I’ve had a potter and a tidy up.
Gonna have a super hot bath in a bit for my aching joints and limbs.
Missed out on a fabulous weekend away with my kids & dh, they have gone without me.

Easter is a washout this year.

We have been up since juat gone 7am as DS, who's nearly 3 was up and ready to eat his eater eggs!! We have having a quiet morning, then off to my parents for a Easter egg hunt and a buffet type tea.
We will two go home and watch a flim, before bath and bed for DS.

Kids were up early. Lots of chocolate eaten. Plus a mini house egg hunt. Just had a cooked breakfast curtesy of DH. We have a time to relax for a bit then meeting up with family for an egg hunt and food later. 🐇

@LeastofLeicester my 12yo dd2 wanted to wrap up an egg for dd1 🙄 & she was up not long after me 🤣

I'm just debating whether I cba to get out the printer, and print some clues I've found for egg hunting. Or, whether to just bung the chocolates in the egg hunt eggs & hide them 🤔 both girls are upstairs so I should get away with either
