How much has your DD gone up by?

Devo1818 · 14/04/2022 17:28

EDF have emailed me to say my DD has gone up but haven't said by how much and when I log in to find out it says it can't load my data. So no idea what to budget this month.

Current - £122 per month, both gas and electric
3 bed semi, family of 4 (5 and 3 year old).

Place your bets please!

Do you have an earlier bill with your annual consumption in kWh?

Fedupbuyer · 14/04/2022 18:28

Just cancel the direct debit and submit readings every month, pay for your actual usage.

Crunchymum · 14/04/2022 18:29

£93 per month to £160. With Shell and to add insult to injury the onus was on me to amend my DD.

We’re with EDF and went from £90/month for dual fuel to £216/month.

That’s for a 3 bed detached, new build.

SuzyQ12 · 14/04/2022 18:31

Ours was £85 on a fixed rate which ended at the end of March (great timing), and then was put up to £166, so almost doubled.

yumscrumfatbum · 14/04/2022 18:33

£140 to £260. Fixed rate ended on April 1st.

AwkwardPaws27 · 14/04/2022 18:37

£120 to £180 with Shell. We were on the SVR already though (as were transferred to Shell when our previous supplier went bust, so lost our fixed rate).

If you have just come off a fixed rate and are going on to SVR now it will go up more than if you were on SVR already and are just increasing in line with the price cap.

Barkingmadhouse · 14/04/2022 18:38

Ours has gone from 80ish to 170ish

surreymum89 · 14/04/2022 18:40

£150 to £240

FruityPolos · 14/04/2022 18:41

E.on was £91 now £153. 3 bed terrace on the south coast, 2 adults and a 5 year old.

EnolaAlone · 14/04/2022 18:41

Mine has gone from £110 to £240.

dementedpixie · 14/04/2022 18:42

Octopus is recommending I set my direct debit at £165 per month so that's what it's at just now. I'm on the SVR. 4 bed detached in Scotland. 2 adults and 2 teens.

Pinklittle · 14/04/2022 18:42

£93 per month to £267 - EON :(

dementedpixie · 14/04/2022 18:43

@melissasummerfield

Also with EDF and we have gone from £325 to £506, it makes me feel physically sick.
Is £506 for a fixed rate? I wouldn't fix if that's the price they are offering.
weekend2021 · 14/04/2022 18:48

@dementedpixie

Interesting - I’m with Octopus, live alone, 3 bed semi. Gone up from £75 to £199.75!
I don’t have high usage and at work or out most days.

FourTeaFallOut · 14/04/2022 18:49

We went from £160 and fixed our rates in January and our bill jumped to £280. We've been able to reduce our usage since then and at £240 now.

dementedpixie · 14/04/2022 18:50

@weekend2021 is that for a fixed rate or the SVR?
Were you in debit with them? When you submit readings how much does it say you are using? You can adjust your direct debit amount online and that's where it suggests what your payment should be

McConkeysPlate · 14/04/2022 18:56

I am shitting it a bit. Family of 8 in a 6 bed 😬😬😬

Babyroobs · 14/04/2022 18:59

Ours doubled ( bulb ).

Yes it's concerning. We are six ( almost ) adults in a 5 bed. At least 2 of the kids are working full time so can contribute if needed.
JurassicShay · 14/04/2022 19:01

I've just gone from meters to pay monthly. I was putting £25ish a week on electric & gas varied from 15-30 a week. My DD is now £194 a month. So not much change for me. I'm with British Gas & it's a 3 bed terrace.

coronafiona · 14/04/2022 19:04

£100 to £240 so far Shock

BigBoyDunItAndRanAway · 14/04/2022 19:05

97 to 161. All electric, with Bulb. Cheeky buggers wanted 178. No chance. Only used 80 last month so expect to use around 120 this month. watches amount in credit increasing at geometric rate . Humph.

pastypirate · 14/04/2022 19:07

Moved to shell when pure planet went bust. Was paying £90ish now submitting monthly meter readings and dd seems to have settled at £139 but I've been brutal with getting the gas usage right down in the house. 1 adult and 12 and 9 year old.

Dontlickthetrolley · 14/04/2022 19:13

I'm with BG and the app is stating that they will not review my DD payment until November! I have manually increased both dd but for Gas they're telling me to reduce it to £23 so that I'm on target for November. On the standard tariff. It's worrying if they're not adjusting some peoples as come November I could have been in serious trouble if I hadn't sorted myself. My council tax rebate will go straight off my electricity if it ever arrives!!
