Cushions on the bed - yay or nay?

They look lovely in photos but truthfully...what's the point?
You aren't in there during the day and have to find somewhere to put them when you get into bed.

I don't have any and when I look online see lovely pics of beds 'dressed' with cushions, but in all honesty, what is the point?

I agree, I'm not a fan and totally couldn't be arsed moving them all to get into bed

SoggyPaper · 13/04/2022 13:52

I feel that it’s poor design. It falls into the ‘looks nice’ but makes life harder for people group of design outcomes. Good design should solve people’s problems (in pleasing ways) not create them.

Nay. Dirty.

Thick square pillows for reading though Smile

We have two - I use them as extra cushioning/support when I sit up in bed and read or have my morning coffee.

OhPullThemUpBrenda · 13/04/2022 13:59

They are not dressed, they are cluttered - totally pointless, just more marketing nonsense
Beds should be aired for as long as possible, especially in hotels etc

dudsville · 13/04/2022 14:00

Nay. Also decorative buttons that aren't actually useful.

PaddingtonStareBare · 13/04/2022 14:03

Nay, no one sees my bedroom other than the people who live in the house ie family Grin

My duvet gets folded back on itself every morning so the bed can air with bedroom windows open.

Don't see the point in 'dressing' a bed, it's just extra clutter.

yikesanotherbooboo · 13/04/2022 14:12

Nay from me.
Who is benefiting from their presence?
I agree not good design.

Deathraystare · 13/04/2022 14:15

No. Too much effort and you have to chuck them off (well I did). Same with too many cushions on a sofa - which are never quite the right size or comfy enough.

Padderbadger · 13/04/2022 14:17

Annoying and just get chucked on the floor every night!

MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler · 13/04/2022 14:19

I like them. Use one too prop my head up to read when I escape to my room in the middle of the day during school holidays. Use another bigger one under my knees (helps hip flexors relax properly, mine are often v tight). And look lovely.

QuattroFormaggi · 13/04/2022 18:02

I have always hated them.
Separated from DH a couple of years ago and few months ago decided to redecorate my bedroom. Chucked out the surplus furniture and splashed out on amazing wallpaper for one wall and changed the colour scheme completely. Put in an armchair and found 3 charity shop brand new John Lewis silk cushions (for £4!) which now are on the bed. I enjoy making my bed in the morning and it makes me smile every day to come home to my gorgeous bedroom. 3 cushions is good to rest on in the day and I chuck them on the armchair at night.
I also hated plants and now my house is like Kew Gardens...I blame being single Grin

Giveitall · 13/04/2022 18:12

I quite like them from a practical perspective! I use them to prop me up to read in bed or drink my morning cuppa with the news on our bedroom tv.
I haven’t overdone it, just two extra coordinating cushions .

GoodSoup · 13/04/2022 18:28

DH hates them and moans every time we stay somewhere that has them. Grin I can see his point as they just end up on the floor.

Seeingadistance · 13/04/2022 18:31

Nay.

CormoranStrike · 13/04/2022 18:45

I can barely handle pillows on a bed - it hurts to have your head unnaturally raised IMHO

WhatIsThisPlease · 13/04/2022 18:45

I'm a yay. I use mine to prop my arm up (bad shoulder) and to lean my iPad against while I'm reading my kindle in bed.

And one is very handy for putting over head when I can hear DP snoring from the spare room

deste · 14/04/2022 20:51

Yay. At least 4.

Charlavail · 14/04/2022 22:11

Yay! 1 big one and two small ones and a blanket on the end of the bed.

ukborn · 14/04/2022 22:29

Hate them. I don't like the look either.

CircusBaby · 14/04/2022 22:34

Yay. I've got a few on mine and use them on top of my pillows to so I can be more raised up to read or watch tv.

gavinc0328 · 14/04/2022 22:37

Nay and 100% agree. When I am on the bed I go straight to sleep. It saves my time tidying up the room as well when guests come.

Same!
ErrolTheDragon · 14/04/2022 23:37

Nay.

Lots of pillows though.

Dazedandconfused10 · 14/04/2022 23:40

I don't even have extra cushions on the sofa. No. What's the point, you prop the pillows up to read in bed.
