Dd ex prison release/risk

Thizizit · 11/04/2022 20:16

Dd ex is due to be let out of prison. In a few days . He will be out on licence. Dd also has a 15 year restraining order on him.

He has told professionals that he will track dd down and the only way he will leave her alone is if he meets another woman with a child.

There is a safety plan and things we have to do incase he tries to approach anyone in the family . I have had to talk to my other children about safety. There are notes being printed that if dd needs to find a safe place such as a shop she can hand over the paper which will explain why she's there and can they call 999.

He will be on a gps tag. Professionals think he's likely to break it.

I don't know why I have written this. Just bit worried I guess.

There is something fundamentally flawed with a system that releases people in this situation. If professionals have reason to believe he’ll breach the order then he shouldn’t be in a position where he had the opportunity to breach it.

I’m so sorry your DD is having to deal with this. I am furious on her, and your, behalf that this isn’t taken more seriously.

Georgeskitchen · 11/04/2022 20:31

He shouldn't be out if he's making threats to make contact with her

This. Shitty system that doesn't care about women's safety.

Be vigilant. I'd think about additional security and checking in. And follow the safety plan.

Thanks

Yep he's practically saying he's going to do something. I just pray he does not track her down. And that he does something stupid with his GPS tag and gos back in that way. Wish they could throw away the key Sad

Is he in prison due to violence against her?

We had a similar situation in the family and were given a specific detective to contact if there were any signs of him showing up or being in the near area. 999 was for an emergency where he tried to make contact but having someone to report suspicions to was helpful. Cameras outside the house and in the car also gave a little peace of mind. A good alarm system and personal alarm to carry as well.

Xpologog · 11/04/2022 20:39

Unbelievable he’s released when he’s stated his intentions.
Social media —- everyone has to be ultra careful, I believe this is the most common way people are tracked.
Very scary that he’ll only leave your DD alone if he meets another woman with a child….. for their sake I hope he doesn’t and is soon back inside.

I have forgot what its called . But there is a thing on her and my address where if 999 is called they have to arrive fast. He does not know where she lives so it needs to stay that way.

Hopefully he moves on.

Keep all doors and windows secured, if you've a spare phone Keeping it hidden, let one of your close neighbours know if you've a good relationship with them.

I went through similar a long time ago it was terrifying waiting on the bastard, Dad kept a baseball bat at the door, thankfully his interests didn't last once he met another woman, 22 years later it still rattles me.

It's such a freaky thing to say. Definitely a danger to woman. I never thought I would somone dead. But I really do.

I was meant to say I never thought I would wish someone dead

I would feel the same about wanting him dead, bastard.

lunar1 · 11/04/2022 20:53

I'm so sorry you are all going through this. Why the hell they ever let people like this out is beyond me.

Me too!!
nocoolnamesleft · 11/04/2022 20:59

It is mind blowing that he can make threats like that, and still be let out. Appalling.

I am a sweet, bleeding heart, worked with offenders leftie. But when I heard that the man who stalked, threatened and harassed me had died... the one the police said they could do nothing about... I shrugged.

We don't have to be the best person when someone is determined to be the worst.

Sorry you are going through this. His licence will have conditions that he will need to adhere to , it's possible that one of these will be that he is not to contact your dd, often breach of licence means a recall to prison.....
He sounds like a vile individual.

WimpyKidYouNot · 11/04/2022 22:13

As others have said there is something very wrong with the system in this case. He clearly has’t rehabilitated.

Doesn’t help in the immediate but can you escalate this to your MP, women’s charities, Liz Truss, Women’s Hour etc. just to give some publicity to the issue (anonymously obviously).

Make sure she's not on the public electoral register!

I'm also sure she knows but any photos of her house/ car need to be removed from all social media etc.

Insanity.

Yes we have made sure of that and everything is private. Also told her not to have school uniform or bags ect with the school logo/name. I have to do the same for my children as well.

BIWI · 06/05/2022 16:38

What happened?!

PutinIsAWarCriminal · 06/05/2022 16:41

Really pleased he is back inside. Hopefully for a long time. I hope your family weren't harassed in the process?
