London - it's at least as windy here today as it was in the February storms

I'm right aren't I? Had all sorts of things blown over in the garden. But no weather warning! The BBC London weather forecast describes it as a "fresh breeze". I don't understand.

Everything in SW London is flying about madly.

viques · 07/04/2022 13:27

It is very blowy! Thunder and rain yesterday, and rainbows. I would like someone to turn the sun on properly please, is god worried about the electricity bill or something?

Rollercoaster1920 · 07/04/2022 13:29

I'm out for the day. I hope the trampoline is still in the garden when I get home!

Crazykefir · 07/04/2022 13:31

I've hung 2 loads of washing out. Hopefully it won't have blown away to Brighton.

jupitermars1345 · 07/04/2022 13:32

It's really windy here to
SE coast but nothing like the storms
45mph winds
We was getting 60-75 mph winds in the storms I think
Had enough of this weather though

AR77 · 07/04/2022 13:34

It is very windy here (SW). The BBC's idea of a 'moderate breeze' and mine differ somewhat, especially as the neighbours swing chair has blown over and broken.

heldinadream · 07/04/2022 13:34

South West - extremely windy here, too. I stood still to take a couple of photos a couple of hours ago and thought I was going to be blown over! Shock

Flittingaboutagain · 07/04/2022 13:36

East Midlands. So windy it's keeping baby from falling asleep properly.

Prettybubblesintheair · 07/04/2022 13:36

It is very windy but I don’t feel like it’s as windy as it was during the feb storms. We lost a fence panel and a tree in those! I’m in Hillingdon.

BookShark · 07/04/2022 13:37

SW London and I'm minus one fence panel - which is admittedly one that blew out during the previous storm and we slotted back in, but still needs more than a breeze to blow that out again!
Also nearly smacked my car door into the next car as the wind caught it as I opened it. I've already said to DS that I'm surprised there weren't any warnings.

nordica · 07/04/2022 13:38

Not as bad as the storm but this took me by surprise today as it hasn't really been mentioned anywhere. There is a yellow weather warning for my area and much of the SE. Was planning a long walk as I have the day off but staying in instead now.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 07/04/2022 13:43

I'm in West Midlands and it also says fresh breeze but the winds are 20 mph

FourChimneys · 07/04/2022 13:45

We have just been saying this. It's nearly 50 mph but no warning. DH went out earlier to secure a few things in the garden.

Our local fb page has photos of a tree which has blown down.

Piccalino3 · 07/04/2022 13:50

I'm in East London abs I agree with you. I've looked at the weather online and can't understand why it's not covered. I actually had trouble walking in a exposed area outside Westfield shopping centre and was looking at other people being blown around so it's not just me being feeble!

Lubeyboobyalt · 07/04/2022 13:50

We've had damage here in Shropshire, couple of tiles off and a small tree down taking part of our garden wall with it but nothing got damaged in the warned storms. Wind noise is insane and kept poor DP up last night despite earplugs

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 07/04/2022 14:03

There is a yellow warning on bbc weather app now

HotnSunnyRainbowRoses · 07/04/2022 14:05

I agree, SE too and I literally said to DH just a few minutes ago it’s like Storm Eunice? again.
I too don’t understand why no weather warning.
The wind is horrendous here!

Peckhampalace · 07/04/2022 14:06

SE London, also wondering what is going on. Torrential rain and thunder yesterday and definitely a brisk breeze (!) today.

mumda · 07/04/2022 14:07

Big jet TV is filming, so yes.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 07/04/2022 14:08

@Crazykefir

I've hung 2 loads of washing out. Hopefully it won't have blown away to Brighton.
I'm worried mine might end up in Brighton at this rate!!
thefootballcoacheswife · 07/04/2022 14:08

My office is in a sort of ports cabinet thing and it's actually quite scary being in it due to the wind. Can feel it moving a lot when there are strong gusts-we're in St Albans. Nothing about this on the weather at all!

thefootballcoacheswife · 07/04/2022 14:08

*porta cabin

viques · 07/04/2022 14:10

BBC says 40mph winds for London at 3.00 pm. “Gusty”

chisanunian · 07/04/2022 14:19

We were in the red zone last time, currently its yellow. Nowhere near as bad as before.

alloalloallo · 07/04/2022 14:24

I’m on the south coast and last time we were in the red warning area. No warnings for this area today.

It was hella windy yesterday and again today but not as bad as the last one.

We had gusts at 90mph + last time
