London - it's at least as windy here today as it was in the February storms

I'm right aren't I? Had all sorts of things blown over in the garden. But no weather warning! The BBC London weather forecast describes it as a "fresh breeze". I don't understand.

Absolutely! Recycling boxes flying through the air here!

PanettoneMoly · 07/04/2022 14:30

I’m in SW London and my fence has just fallen over. It got a good wobble on it during the last gusty period and today has been its downfall. Quite literally.

whenwillthemadnessend · 07/04/2022 14:31

Agree I took the dog out and was getting worried we would be hit by a stray branch.

SockFluffInTheBath · 07/04/2022 14:31

I’m in the midlands and the BBC says we’re having 15mph winds. My trees say otherwise Grin

I nearly lost our buggy (with DD inside it) during a gust this morning. Luckily a lady saw me struggling and helped me hold the buggy and get to somewhere more sheltered. No idea how it compares to before as we stayed at home because of the warnings. It took me by surprise today - I could tell there was a bit of wind outside but didn’t think much of it due to lack of warnings.

Deathraystare · 07/04/2022 15:11

Yep. Windy in West London and I heard glass smashing this morning but I think it is clumsy workmen as I have heard it before (and oaths in Polish as well!!).

Aliceforgot · 07/04/2022 15:14

South here. It is windy but not Storm Eunice windy.

avocadotofu · 07/04/2022 15:16

It's really windy in south east London.

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 07/04/2022 15:20

I saw one of my wheelie bins chasing Usain Bolt...... And it was closing on him.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 07/04/2022 15:20

I see there's a weather warning and 40mph wind forecast or London ATM. It wasn't predicted though, they have just updated the forecast to reflect what is currently outdoors.

Rollercoaster1920 · 07/04/2022 15:20

It's ripped the plastic on a nearby loft extension scaffold that survived the storms. So seems stronger, or at least from a different angle.

AHungryCaterpillar · 07/04/2022 15:25

I was going to take mine to the fun fair today but decided not to risk it as I’m not even sure the rides would be safe in this wind! Gentle breeze Hmm

sashagabadon · 07/04/2022 15:26

Central london ridiculously windy. Queuing for sky garden at around 11am, almost blown off my feet. Southbank v windy too

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 07/04/2022 15:26

It's windy here in London but nowhere near as windy as the storms. The trampoline isn't screwed into the ground and hasn't moved. Albeit the washing is having a great time on the line Grin

Supersimkin2 · 07/04/2022 15:27

My garden chairs have taken wing. On the upside, the new fence to replace the one Dudley disappeared, is clattering but upright.

ABitDrunk · 07/04/2022 15:30

SW London here too. The winds were definitely gusting higher than during the storm. The Gardner gave up and went home!

The gusts are howling in the windows but can't see any damage.

dworky · 07/04/2022 15:33

Or yesterday. BBC Weather app is shite.

ImplementingTheDennisSystem · 07/04/2022 15:33

Very windy here on the Welsh borders. All of our heavy potted plants have blown over in the garden.

Wheretheskyisblue · 07/04/2022 16:47

There is a yellow warning for wind where we are in Surrey. At 45mph though it is much less windy than the February storm.

Very windy in Kensington. Saw a public bin in the middle of a road.

MySecretHistory · 07/04/2022 16:56

windy in westminster

Rollercoaster1920 · 07/04/2022 16:56

The Met Office gave warnings it seems. I've been using the BBC app but it didn't have any, AGAIN. I think I need to cut out the middle-man and use the Met office app. I prefer the BBC app layout but the reliability of data is terrible.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 07/04/2022 20:33

Yes this is why I keep using it, despite how useless it is at actually... forecasting weather.

Glittertwins · 07/04/2022 20:50

It seemed a lot windier earlier today than what we had in February although we didn't lose any tiles or drainpipes this time
