My resolve is weak. It's week two of diet ( we'll really only day 10) and the post school run biscuits are calling me. It was a bad habit. I NEED to loose weight my BMI makes me in the overweight category, so it's not just vanity, but speaking of vanity I look about 5 month pregnant my tummy is so chunky. Help

I'll take the biscuits. No dark chocolate please.

PinkestMoon · 06/04/2022 16:32

Imagine each one is a dog poo and it will smell and taste like dog poo and if you put it in your mouth imagine that's what it is. You're welcome

Sorry, that's fucking weird. Don't do this op.
Muminabun · 06/04/2022 16:34

Don’t buy the biscuits, no one needs them, Chuck them in the bin and don’t have them in the house. My kids get tons of junk food when they go out and to parties and to their friends house, biscuits don’t need to be daily food. Or buy the kids an after school treat you don’t like. I am not a fan of ice cream so I buy that for them as I know I don’t want any.
Also psychologically you don’t actually want the biscuits or believ they are good so in a way think about standing up for yourself and sticking up for yourself and what you want and your beliefs.
Habits are strong op and we all have our weaknesses for some it’s wine for others crisps etc.

PinkestMoon · 06/04/2022 16:35

I got it from Paul McKenna Grin

Milknosugarta · 06/04/2022 16:40

I wish you hadn't mentioned wine and crisps............. 🍷😕

But then you’d do that and think ‘mmm oreo (or whatever biscuit of choice). 🤣 this making an unhealthy brain connection that dog poo actually tastes ok …
PerrinAybara · 06/04/2022 16:59

I'll keep you from the biscuits if you help me by keeping me away from the pringles OP.

buddhasbelly · 06/04/2022 17:03

I've switched from biscuits to Biscuit Tea. I've drawn a line at the toast and jam one though.

springsmiles · 06/04/2022 17:06

I'm in the same boat. Love biscuits and can't stop at 1 or 2, usually more like 1/2 pack.

My tips are stick photographs of when you were slimmer where the biscuits are. I printed a lot of photos and have them around the house as motivation

Exercise, after a class I feel so tired and can't bring my self to eat biscuits after working so hard to lose a few calories

Pedallleur · 06/04/2022 18:42

What @muminabun says

That’s what I was coming on to say.

Biscuit tea is the way to go.

I’ll have to try the toast & jam one so I can skip breakfast easily on fast days.

energywavering · 06/04/2022 19:06

I don't know if this will help, and it probably comes across badly so I'm sorry for this, but in my opinion if you can't stop eating biscuits, you're not serious enough about dieting. I've lost a lot of weight twice in the past and I did this through determination and maybe a bit of obsession with regards to losing weight.
Instead of biscuits have carrot or cucumber sticks followed by a cup of tea and that'll hold you over for another hour or so, then if you're still an hour or 2 off your next meal get through that time by imagining how good you could look by the summer and how you'll only feel guilty if you eat the biscuits.
Give yourself a goal and imagine the clothes you could wear to that event you're going to in the summer.
You have to change your habits by determination, and believe me once you start seeing the results you'll be on a roll, good luck x

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 06/04/2022 19:45

All I can think of now is swiss roll in the cat litter tray. I'm low carbing and want to shoot myself with chocolate buttons 🤪

ElenaSt · 06/04/2022 20:24

Have you tried eating salad biscuits?

thecatsthecats · 06/04/2022 20:44

Watch the documentary "What are we feeding our kids".

I find it much easier to cut out foods on the grounds of their being essentially toxic to the body and brain than I do on the grounds of calories.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 06/04/2022 22:21

Put them on the top shelf so you would have to get a chair to get them down.

Not to worry, I'll have the dark chocolate ones.

@ElenaSt I just popped back to this thread and you got me really excited there 😂

OP you need to get the biscuits out the house in to a bin. Biscuits can't tempt you if you don't have any! Then go down the gym or do a workout as that'll help to regulate your appetite.
ElenaSt · 08/04/2022 14:06

Sorry Op, I love biscuits and hate cucumber!

As with any addiction with food the only way to stop eating them is to stop buying them.

Good intentions of one or two a day only serve to demoralise your when you’ve scoffed half a packet in one go, so don’t set yourself up for failure.

Alternatively, look at hypnotherapy videos on YouTube.

One example here - (I haven’t watched it)

TheMoreYouKnow · 08/04/2022 14:33

What is biscuit tea? Anyway, what about limiting yourself to one biscuit a day as a treat and just nibbling it over a long time? Works for me otherwise its easy to shovel them in without tasting them. Saying as that was me 4 biscuits later and I didn't even really taste them. Or make it so they're really difficult to get to. Or just stop buying them. No one really needs biscuits including dcs. You'll be doing you all a favour. Nibble on a stick of celery or carrot. Not quite the same but the carrot contains sugar. Yeah I'll get my coat...
Would still like to know what biscuit tea is though, says as popping head back round the door....

Madre123 · 08/04/2022 14:41

I have been told by gp this am that my cholesterol is high....just thrown all biscuits choc out into the bin and bought sweetener for my tea! Shocked was an understatement but the push I needed...
