I'd totally forgotten all about it 🙈
Army family so we've moved loads and I can't even remember who it was invested with!
Dd has just turned 18 and we've sent of the form to track the account down but have no idea what it's worth. I remember there was different amounts depending on when the child was born.
I've never paid into it as I had my own savings account started for her so can anyone let me know what she can expect to get?

Probably expect around £450 or so. The Government put £250 in under Brown.

We've not put anything in either and it's about £450 or so. Been a while since I looked at it.

Whitefire · 05/04/2022 16:19

DD had just turned 16, her recent statement was around £450. I have done nothing with it.

Did you get the additional £250?

clueless91 · 05/04/2022 16:38

I'm sure she got two payments but can't remember the amounts. I know it wasn't the biggest sum as my friends dd got that and she was born the year before. She turned 18 last month but I can't even find the amounts online. Suppose we will have to wait till the paperwork comes through.

About 15K. been paying into it over the years, 18 next year

Habitatty282 · 05/04/2022 16:58

DS is 13 and he had £500 off the government in 2009. Its now £10k as we've been added to it. It gets around 10% interest a year.

forlornlorna · 05/04/2022 17:04

My child got hers two years ago in October and she got 1300

ZaraSizeMedium · 05/04/2022 17:06

DS got his last year, it was about £600 and we’ve never paid into it.

TheChosenTwo · 05/04/2022 17:08

Do you have to send off for it or do they just send you a cheque or something? I didn’t actively do anything with the ones my dds were offered, they were set up for them in the end.
I have no idea how to access either of them as I can’t for the life of me remember who they were with and we set them up at an old address and don’t even live there anymore Grin
Oh well, I’m not too upset, it wasn’t really our money to begin with and we have our own savings for the dc anyway but I’m now curious as to what’s in there - I hadn’t thought about these accounts since they were small!

H1978 · 05/04/2022 17:09

My dd will be 18 in December and it’s around 7.5k at the moment. Been paying in £10.00 per month since it was opened so about 2k is what i put in.

cptartapp · 05/04/2022 17:13

Around £1000. Born 2002.

Oblomov22 · 05/04/2022 17:17

This isn't a sensible question OP because it depends if each person has added to it. £2500. Ds1 just got his. Ds2 less.

takingmytimeonmyride · 05/04/2022 17:19

My twins are 18 soon and I could only find the paperwork for one, his is worth about £470. The other has sent off for his paperwork.

I checked my youngests and his is currently £660.

I've never added to them.

screweduppotatoe · 05/04/2022 17:40

DD got £1.870. She was a 2002 baby. I never paid anything into it.

BertieBotts · 05/04/2022 17:41

I think 13yo's was worth about £600, I never added to it but we did get the low income extra payment.

Boswellocks · 05/04/2022 17:45

I've never added to the amounts given to the one of my DC who qualified. It's worth about £1800 now (we put it in a share account thing).

CornishGem1975 · 05/04/2022 17:48

I never paid into it. We got the standard £250. Last year it was worth £150 Hmm Glad I didn't bother!

NiceTwin · 05/04/2022 17:48

I have a 2002 child but never received a CTF for her.
My 2006 dd has one though.

CornishGem1975 · 05/04/2022 17:48

I'm amazed everyone's went up - ours just went down!

MyDcAreMarvel · 05/04/2022 17:48

£1600 currently dd is 17, never added to it but used stocks and shares.

alereal · 05/04/2022 17:49

£900 but paid nothing extra into it

Benjispruce4 · 05/04/2022 17:49

Just rang today actually and it’s £660. We didn’t pay into it as she had a separate savings account. Probs should have paid into this instead.

Benjispruce4 · 05/04/2022 17:50

She’s a 2004 child.

Peanutssuck · 05/04/2022 17:52

My DC got hers last year. Never paid into it and she got about £1200. If you still have the same email address that u gave to them, they'll start emailing you about 6 months beforehand, with how to get the money out. Warning tho....it was an absolute nightmare to get the money out of them. I had to download a Yoti app to prove my daughters ID etc. I ended up threatening them with Court

Benjispruce4 · 05/04/2022 17:52

Your child has to contact them once 18. It stays active until you do so Dd will leave hers until she goes to uni in September. It’s accrued £30’since 2019Hmm but still, it’s free money and she’ll appreciate it as a poor student.

Benjispruce4 · 05/04/2022 17:55

@Peanutssuck I spoke to One Family today actually. They said the process is online and once ID proves via passport or driving license it will take 10days. She can have a bank transfer or cheque. Surprised at the different amounts of those that didn’t add to it. Is it the level of risk required? Ours was in sticks but only £660
