With both my boys it was capers and wine gums (not eaten a caper before or since!). With Dd it was orange juice, by the gallon.
Oddly, my sister also craved orange juice with my niece.

DS - prawn cocktail crisps and seaweed - I put on a lot of weight that pregnancy

DD - strawberry tarts, fruit.. it was a hyperemesis pregnancy so I ate what I fancied when I could!

@StellaOlivetti

Ice, both times. And the smell of new carpets, I used to go into Carpet Right and walk about inhaling deeply.
How strange my mum had a carpet fitted when I was about 8 weeks gone and I couldn't stand the smell of it all through my pregnancy! It makes me feel sick thinking about it! I could still smell it until the day I gave birth haha x

Orange juice and orange juice ice lollies...had a DD.

Couldn't stomach squash though, it had to be the real thing.

With dc 1 it was beer and burgers. I indulged in the second far more than the first. Dc 1 is now grown up and teetotal and vegan.
With dc2 and 3 ( twins) it was just ice cubes. Weird.

Spare ribs from the Chinese takeaway and cream cakes. It's no wonder I put on four stone in seven months. Funnily enough I wasn't interested in them once my son was born so the weight did come off quite quickly.

mumwon · 05/04/2022 22:18

bunches of those posh baby carrots with the ferny leaves on I use to buy them in the supermarket & munch them up to the tops by the time I got home
(for all 3 dc)
My dh brought a bunch into the hospital (I was being induced - yep for all 3) & it was a l-o-n-g wait

DeadButDelicious · 05/04/2022 22:20

Salt and vinegar crisps. Those teddy shaped cake bars. And kfc. I'm amazed DD didn't come out looking like a piece of chicken to be honest. BlushGrin

Vegetables made me sick for the entire time I was pregnant, same with baked beans and orange juice. Couldn't stomach them at all. They went in but came straight back up. Not fun for me as I love veg usually.

@MsFogi

McDonalds - I often worry about how many McD meals dd2 consumed in the womb!!
Ah, McDonald's. Me too. I ate two cheeseburger meals in one sitting just hours before giving birth to dc1 it got to the point where one wasn't hitting the spot any more 🤣
Downtherefordancing · 05/04/2022 23:29

Loads of olives for me .. at least a jar a day. All 3 of my DC love olives now too.

And I bloody loved the smell of new tyres and would wander round Halfords sniffing tyres … very weird.

Appolonia · 05/04/2022 23:55

Oranges, mandarins, orange juice.

The smell of tyres - I was obsessed!
The smell of the steam coming out of my kettle as the water boiled.

party rings

cold toast with butter and marmite

weetabix minis fruit and nut

tuna sandwiches

Justcallmebebes · 06/04/2022 08:35

Mars Bars and mashed potato, often at the same time. Can't stand Mars Bars now. I went completely off the taste of coffee but couldn't get enough of the smell of it

Limegreentangerine · 06/04/2022 09:10

Another one for Dr Pepper
Which i havnt touched since he was born!

MrsSugar · 06/04/2022 09:20

Weirdly none !!! I had hyperemesis and food wise I literally considered how bad a food would be to throw up before I ate it. I went off loads of drinks too. The only thing I had a notion for was the smell of someone smoking a cigarette …. I don’t and have never smoked neither has DH or any immediate family. So gross and obvz I didn’t seek out someone to smoke in front of me. Crazy ! The only thing I can think is my grandmother was a heavy heavy smoker and I spent a lot of time with her in childhood so maybe it was a nostalgic comfort thing !

SniggleSnarf · 06/04/2022 09:29

For both of my DDs it was petrol!

And also when you get in the car and the AC jets start going....that musty smell was amazing. I used to get so annoyed if DP talked to me, because I needed to concentrate on sniffing it all up.
